OK, I paid an RV place $50 to install a closet rod in the privacy room (front to back) and another in the hanging closet (previously had perpendicular-type rod). On the first use, they both came tumbling down and all that was hanging.

I had intended for them to be bolted or secured some way through the fiberglass into the center of the wooden cup that holds the wooden closet rod on each end. They did not. They simply used some sort of glue. I would now like to have it done properly but have never drilled a hole into fiberglass before with my electric drill.

Does someone have a way to do this?

And, I'd also like to make the existing hanging closet a full door instead of just the use of the top half of the closet so I may have some extra storage. Suggestions?

Thanks

I am fairly sure that I would return to the RV shop and make them give me my moneys worth or moneys back!

I'm with Ed on this one. BUT, I've had really good luck (knock on wood) using 3M double sided tape on the rod holders... then the rod I used was a tension rod... the kind you screw the shaft to lengthen (or tighten against the walls). I have one in the side-bath of my Scamp and it's been there for more than three years and hasn't once fallen.

I'm with Donna on the tension rod. We had 4 (I think) in our 16 Scamp between the back two cabinets to create a shelf across the back. With our Casita we still use one of those between the cabinets when we have wet towels and are ready to leave the campground.
