I've seen an number of mods to hold the door open for the little shelf over the microwave. I found this spring at West Marine for about $10. Looks like its about $13 these days.
Cabinet Support
Easy to install although I didn't need all that wood. A more modest block would do. Poke the spring to push it out of column and it folds out of the way. Handy.
