As you may or may not have noticed, some users have cute little pictures under their names.
These tiny pictures are called Avatars and are a fun way of expressing yourself.
Some chose to upload pix of themselves but I prefer to express my personality, by posting a pix of gorilla, or sometimes using an Avatar of Snow White's Grumpy!
You, too, can join in the fun ... by following these simple steps.
1. Do an internet search for avatar using any of the web search engines like Google. There are numerous sites offering avatars.
2. Please note: many, if not most, of the sites offer Avatars of scantily clad men and women ... obviously using these would be inappropriate here ... but there are many sites offering comical and cute avatars. Select a small one (not a MEGA avatar), usually by right clicking on the image and save as something on your computer ... save as, say, my avatar.
3. Watch the location where your computer saves or stores the downloaded avatar. You'll need it to upload later to the FiberglassRV website.
4. Your avatar must be no bigger than 75 pixels by 75 pixels in size. Uploaded avatars from your computer must be no larger than 8 KB. The following file types are allowed: gif .jpeg .jpg .png. Use your graphics application to size your avatar prior to attempting to upload.
5. From the opening screen of the FiberglassRV website, click My Controls up near the top right. Then, on the next screen, select Edit Avatar Settings which is located about 2/3 of the way down on the left navigation bar.
6. Because you are uploading your avatar from your computer. Click “Browse” next to “Upload a new image from your computer.”
7. Then click on the proper file (once you find it) to open it, which takes you back to the custom avatar screen. Make sure you then click on Update Avatar and you're done.
The avatar will not be visible until you close your browser and log back on.
Good luck! And remember, please use some common sense when picking an avatar ... but have some fun. Express yourself! And let us know if you have a problem!
