Hi Everyone,
Just thought I'd post some mods of Dewey that we included in the restoration of this Trill.
My favorite, by far is the water pump.
This great idea we took away with us from Prairie Bolerama 2005. Gord100 from Ontario was in attendance and showed us his Trill. We had installed a brand new pump/faucet for the sink of Dewey and this thing was extremely hard to pump up and down. Gord had installed a 12 volt pump to make life a lot easier. We priced out pumps and found they were quite expensive. We purchased a small pump that you would use for your car windshield washer and installed it. Just a couple pumps of the handle to prime it, flip the switch and RUNNING WATER!

Another modification that we made was to install a Boler holding tank under the Trill to save space inside. Originally there was a metal tank located in the back bunk.
My husband made a protective aluminum case and designed strapping to install it under the trailer. The case was lined with strips of Styrofoam to help protect the tank. Measurements were taken on the inside of the back bunk and under the trailer to position the water intake valve.
To empty the tank, we simply reach under and open the valve.

We added a small table to the front bunk so we could keep the bed made, but still have a place to sit and enjoy a drink. When the table is not in use, it retracts into the frame the section of foam with matching material can be placed in the cavity so the bunks can be used.
When I was recovering the backrest part of the front bunk, we left out a section of the foam and just recovered over top of the plywood that attaches the back to the trailer. A frame was made that fits inside the cavity that I had left, and a retractable table top was installed. Simply pushing up on the white levers retracts the top into it's frame.
