Here are some mods done recently on a standard Scamp 5th wheel.

So Bill, I can't tell from the pictures... is this a front bathroom floor plan or a side bathroom floor plan?

On the standard, the bathroom is on the left; in ours, the "couch" (or bunks) was replaced with a 3 door cabinet unit. On the left (street side and forward of the bathroom) is a hanging closet; middle is a general storage and jacket hanger area; on the right (curb side and just forward of the doorway) is a linen cabinet with 3 shelves. The step stool can be folded and stowed in the bathroom or left in place without interferring with the bathroom door.

Other mods include the toe board area on the street side (under the cabinets and under the bathroom doorway) was orginally rather large; converted to storage cabinet with sliding doors.

Lighted grab handle installed between the screen and the doorway on the left side of the doorway. Similar to Larry Page's.

"Lighted on" switches installed for the "porch" light and the grab handle light.

12v outlet installed on the underside of the overhead bins just aft of the bathroom. The outlet is not visible unless you really look for it.

Florescent light (12v Sunray) installed on/in the ceiling just above the leading edge of the table (between the fantastic fan and std roof vent. Followed suggestion from Morgan Bulger.

Double pin hinges installed 9.5" back from the leading table edge, so we can fold up the front end of the table allowing more space for getting in and out of the "booth" area.

Original cushions in the loft area replaced with a double size mattress, positioned lengthwise (so we don't have to crawl over each other in the middle of the night). Privacy curtain repositioned on the forward side of the bathroom.

Twin nightstands installed left and right sides in the "nose" (at head of bed).

Thick dark bath towels sewn to the window side of the loft curtains.
A few more mods have been done; will think of them as soon as I sign off.

Still mentally designing a roof top kayak carrier.

Another great idea and something that Scamp should incorporate in their table top design.



That is something that we will certanly have to do before we start for The Land of the Midnight Sun.

Will attempt to get mo pics in the next day or two.

Sunray light power - yes, connected to wiring running to FanTastic Fan; mounting achieved by 2 - 1/16" x 3/8" x 4" metal straps attached to both ends of the back side of the light, but spaced about 1/4" from the light. Ends of straps slide under the Fan frame on one side and the roof vent frame on the other; kind of like a capital H turned on its' side. Nice tight fit, and a very nice light; thanks Morgan for the suggestion.

Night stands on a deluxe would be placed either on the left or right side of loft area on a deluxe, next to the "head" of the bed.

My wife refreshed my memory; front curtains have a double navy blue sheet sewn to them rather than a towel.

I could fulltime in one of those Scamp 5eggers. I am afraid to see one for real at the rally for fear of the dreaded 2footitis syndrome.

In my case it would be 3footitis. Thanks for the pix and great mods!!

Phil, if you fulltime in a Scamp 5 egg how would you carry your
motorcycle? Better stay with your 16' casits with all your nice

With a 5th wheel you could mount a motorcycle carrier on the back. You wouldn't get the sway like a regular trailer. I wouldn't be at all afraid to pull it that way. You could mount a lot of you extras back there. You see additions on the road all of the time.
