I sandblasted the frame undercoated it added 4" lift to the axle. Then I fiberglassed the fridge vents over and put a hatch in where the old furnace vents used to be. I am putting in a boat furnace (Force 10 Cozy Cabin)
This old trailer was in pretty good shape, but the biggest problems that I have encountered is where the previous owners used crappy steel screws to mount different items. All the new fittings are good chrome or stainless. If I do this right they could probably bury me in it, (saves money on a casket):sad
i am still not sure how I am going to line it but I'll come up with something. (Janafer and Thomas I will send you some good pieces of liner)

The shell without anything in it heater, stove, fridge, etc., only weighed in at 400-450 lbs.
Removing the "egg" from the trailer was fairly easy except the damn bolts were 3/8" steel and had rusted solid, so I used an impact driver and snapped them off. There was only 5 bolts holding the whole unit on the frame. I replaced them with 3.8" stainless steel with large stainless washers and nyloc nuts so they wont loosen off.
i am sure every type off trailer will have a slightly different method or bolt pattern etc., but I am sure they are all fairly simple once investigated.
When I lowered the "egg" back on the frame it lined up quite close and I used a "spud" wrench tip to adjust the bolt holes. It was alot easier than I thought it was going to be. I used a 10 ton overhead crane which may have been a "little" overkill but the price was right...;)

taking notes?? for sure!! I want to do this so bad. maybe next year. Ha!! right!! I was looking under mine, and she could use a paint job under there. on the axle. I hate to think what else I would find. (shiver).
