Has anyone had experience with this type of gadget? Works with up to three remote sensors. I have the sensor in the trailer now and the base unit in the house.

It's interesting to watch the temp go up and down inside the rv over the day.

I'll mount the sensor outside the trailer when I'm on the road.

Don't mount it . I use one that has up to 3 remotes. I put one in the refrigerator, another outside, and it also has a local sensor on it. I keep the base in the trailer when set up to keep track of everything. Then when I'm on the road I put it in the tow vehicle so I can keep track of the refrigerator temperature. It works most of the time when on the road. It will go off for a couple of minutes at a time. But it still keeps you informed of the status of things.

You can still take it outside with you if you're sitting out.

I like the display on yours better than our Oregon Scientific. (It's a LaCrosse Technology--good prices, too, at your web site.)

We got ours primarily to monitor the refrigerator temperature. Since then, the frig is never too warm and we no longer experience the dreaded ''frozen lettuce'' syndrome!
But I do plan to get a second remote to attach outdoors. As you do, we take the base unit into the tow vehicle when we're on the road. The units attach firmly with velcro.:thumb
During the winter, we bring the base unit into the house, and leave a remote in the Casita.

Rick, I would order an extra remote in addition to the remote that comes with the base package.

Also, Wallyworld has carried a couple of brands of these over the past year or two. The feature that I did not like about WalMarts was that the buttons (to change the channels) were on the back of the unit. If attached to the wall they would be inconvenient if you wanted to switch the channel being displayed (like from refrigerator to outside air temp.)

just one little caution on this don't mount it thing.
someone was talking about how they always put that monitor outside opon the spare tire for easy in viewing temps. worked really well until they forgot and drove off with it on the tire. so add that to your check list.

Rick, sorry I didn't reply sooner. Wallyworld has them for 29.00 canadian-eh.BUT the web site has more advanced models. WalMart just carries the one model.

Note to all: Now is the time to browse WalMart for all the rv nick-nacks in housewares....before the spring rush.:)

One advantage I see with the Oregon Scientific thermometer is that it has adjustable alarms. I didn't see that in the specs for the LaCrosse. That would be handy for preventing freeze up in the refrigerator.
