What is that under the back of the trailer, Lyndon? It's stripped like a flag pole.

Lyndon, I asked you on another thread, but this seems to perfect place to ask: Is that a cute little awning on the rear window of your Scamp?
If it is, I really, really need to see a close up of that. Did you do it? Come on, fess up. I gotta know!

Yes : this idea came up one stormy hot dry camp :bed ,when I thought it sure would be nice to have a window open. This is formed from 1/8 foam pvc, avalible at any plastics suplier. Make a patern from card board , saw it out heat it and form it as you want. sylicone and fasten to window frame with small sheet metal screws. the window box is the same stuff filled with great stuff and flowers:flowers stuck in .

I knew it! Now if that just isn't the cutest thing I ever did see. I just love it!
Now I have to figure out how I can do something like that over my rear window A/C.
Foam, PVC, huh? :conf Not sure I am familiar with that, but I'll definitely have to check into it.
I suppose being on the back of the trailer, the wind pretty much goes over it and around it so that it is okay. Do the Flowers even stay okay?

But you can't open your back windows, because of your AC. What you need this cute little awning for?
(I know, I know: To complete the look of your Prairie Rose, the Rolling Bungalow. It was a rhetorical question.)
Maybe now you'll seriously think about moving your AC up front? But then you'll lose the lower half of your closet.
Decisions, decisions: Flower box and neat little awning, or closet for stowing full length gown for square dances?

Mary, Yeah, I know I can't open my back window, but I need (?) one back there for a few reasons. It would help the efficency of the A/C for one thing. When my Casita is parked at home, the rear faces due west. Then, when the sun hits the A/C it makes it work harder plus you can't have the vent button open on the A/C. The extreme hot outside air (100*) mixed with the very cold inside air creates too much condensation for the older unit to handle. The other thing is that various debris gets into the unit from the outside. These have a tendency to work their way down and clog up the drain hole. But the most important reason is that it is just what the Rolling Bungalow needs because it is so cute! ;)
When I first got my Casita last year (and before I became intimately acquainted with the people at Casita), I had a vague conversation with them about moving it forward. They seemed to think that it might be more trouble than it was worth. Now that I know Jay better, I think that I might have a chat with him about it. I think that the placement of the closet door might present a problem. I need to check, but I don't think there is quite enough clearance between the lower portion under the door and the floor. Does that make sense?

move the air??? Suz??? and here I thought Lyndon's awning would be just the thing to camouflage the fact you had an ac back there not to replace it. :wak

I confess I was thinking more in terms of the cute little flower box under the window than just the awning itself. Yeah, you rite: if you skip the flower box, the awning really might help the back window AC. (I'd think your awning should be a little deeper than Lyndon's, however.)
Of course, if you had a flower box, and planted real flowers, the drip from the AC would water them..., no? :wak

Naw, I'm probably not gonna move it. I like the closet space and I have really gotten kind of use the the A/C back there.
I think an awning might just be the key. I could make a larger one for the center to cover the A/C and two smaller ones for the windows on each side.
