Although my Dakota has plenty of power to pull my Scamp 5er . As I can drive on most highways without it downshifting. But while in cruise control it would downshift it seems when it even saw a hill coming:sad . The cruise controls on these newer vehicles are much too sensitive :m and I am told there is no adjustment as there used to be.:L So what I did to fool it was to add about 1 inch to the throttle arm where the cruise control connects .:lol This makes the unit have to move farther before it downshifts.:cry I have used this gadget now for 6 years and it is much better.:banana The modification is quite simple I simply JB welded an extension to the existing arm If anyone would like more details let me know.
PS. JB weld is a product no camper should be without!!
