Ok, a couple questions actually...
I've been taking out the original flooring, and I've been noticing that at the rear dinette seats there had been some sort of plastic gasket placed between the seats and the floor and the adjacent cabinets. Are you replacing this? If so, what with? Was it's purpose just to prevent rubbing of the fiberglass? The front seat didn't have any of this material, just the rear ones. Should it get some too?

Alright, realistically a whole big bunch of questions…
Also, I'm thinking that cleaning, wiring, and laying new flooring etc. would be easier if I take the seats out. If they are glassed in or something, then I don’t think I’ll try to take them out. It looks like there are about 4 screws inside the seat holding them down onto the floor, and several screws that go from the top down through the glass into some plywood strips. Does that sound about right – or am I missing something?

Your are right about seats.They just unscrew at least in my 13ft boler they did.I too removed them so I could rewire etc.I had no plastic gasget in my unit.They came out easy and back in easy.

Do you think the gasket thing is a good idea to do anyway? I'm thinking I might try to replace it anyway, just to keep everything from rubbing (unless that won't be a problem).

Hey, one more question (if I may).... The metal transition strips between the cabinets and the flooring, do they serve any structural purpose that you know of? I'm thinking of abandoning them and going with 2.5" rubber cove base instead.

If you can replace rubber gasget if for no other reason than peice of mind go for it.It may prevent rubbing into the floor.
The metal at bottom of cabinets I dont have .I have a rubber like stuff about 2inches high.(cove)

They are addicting and fun at same time.I am glad my 17ft Boler is fixed and mobile or I would be out there all nite working on it.My 13fter is for something to do.No rush with it and no pressure.I am going to:bed
