That would look good up there on the trailer. Wonder if we qualify as a RV club? We might have to get Micheal to register us if not.

Camping World sells a "T" fitting, which installs in lieu of the traditional vent camp ... which works the same ... but only when you are running down the road (because it's fixed and doesn't swivel).

The "weather-vane" feature of this would seem to allow the device to work while camped ...

But I gotta tell you ... I just can't imagine that this device can withstand the rigors of 1,000s of miles of expressway travel, with crosswinds, and suction winds from passing semi tractor trailers, while Charles II is driving 75 mph.

Might be the kind of thing you could install while camping and then remove for road travel.

Forgive me for asking, but are you having "odor" problems with your toilet?

What kind of chemicals are you using?

We have had years and years and years of success using Bob Steffen's home brewed pinesol mixture.

Hey, no debate from me. We've used it for years now ... and it works like a charm!

Did have one funny thing happen on our last trip. We mixed up two 2-litre bottles of the mixture to take with us ... and after we got in the mountains, the pressure change caused one of the bottles to leak inside the Suburban.

Luckily the two-litre was inside a flip-top plastic crate ... but the Suburband still smelled pinesol fresh for a couple of days! (Couldn't separate the pine smell from the thick forest from the pine smell from the toilet mixture!)

That vent scheme may just transfer your odors over to your neighbor or to where you're sitting outside.

I have used just plain Pinesol for years. It works pretty well on its own. I've never tried just detergent. Think I'll give that a try. Thanks for re-running the old thread.
