Here is a picture of the latest body modification done on my tow vehicle. It was done as a surprise for me, by the bodyshop that was supposed to be repairing the windshield pillars and cowling. 2 days before Christmas.

I can only say, if you live in Canada, beware for your vehicle. Even though the bodyshop admitted their negligence, I cannot sue for more than the insurance adjusters value.
On a ten year old, high mileage van, it's not worth a whole lot, regardless of what I had into it. I thought the bodyshop owner would be upfront and fair about a settlement, but boy was I naiive. I won't post the name of the shop here, I don't want The WEB GUY to get in any hot water, but if you want to know where not to get body work done in Northern Ontario, drp me a PM.
And yes it is a major body shop in my area.

Yeow..what did they do, take a torch to it? Looks like someone forgot there's lots of plastic in these vehicles and I think most would realize flame and plastic...melt.

the welder finished welding in the new pillars and walked away to go have lunch.
Go figure, where I work you have to stay where you were welding for 1/2 hour after you quit working, and then check it 1/2 and 2 hours later

Joe,
Here's hoping you get something for the trouble, inconvenience and hassle.

Joe, sorry for the frustration... but at least it was a high-mileage, ten year old minivan and not the Trill! The van's pretty easily replaceable, albeit with some additional expense and aggravation, but replaceable nonetheless. A similar event involving the Trill would have been a true tragedy!

If that was MY 12 yr old minivan it would have been a huge loss for me, as I could never afford anything but an oldie but goodie. This had to be a huge shock and big loss for you. I hope you get compensated for that huge loss. For me anything over 10 yrs of age is what I usually can afford. YIKES,
I sure hope you get a better van out of the deal and at THEIR cost as they ruined yours.

I am in the process of buying another van the same year as my previous one, the newer GM vans have a smaller engine and lower tow rating. Unlesss I go into the silly expense zone.
I need a 7 passenger vehicle for carpooling, and still need something with some fuel economy that can tow my Trillium.
