Full Version: Size Limit for Attachments

4.gif Each post now has an attachment size limit (total) of 400k.
That's either two pics at 200k each, or 5 pics at 80k.

We recommend each pic file be no larger than 80k.

See our Basic Website Tutorials forum for tips on
attaching pics: Photo Uploads Tutorial.

If you need to post more than 5 pics, feel free to make a second post.

If your attachment is a text file that's greater than 400k, we may want to consider putting it in our Document Center (which requires sending it to Donna D.)

This is great, Mary. Could we make this a sticky or post it under Tutorials?

Can a Moderator or Administrator also comment on the types of allowed files? While most attachments are images, the occasional PDF or other document type appears. Which are allowed, encouraged, discouraged, et cetera?

I can imagine some information would be most effectively shared in a tabular form not supported by the post editing tools, which could be done as an HTML file, a PDF, or a proprietary spreadsheet document (such as that used by MS Excel), but not all forms are readily used by all forum members, so a guideline would be helpful.
Donna D.
JPEG, JPG, GIF and PNG are acceptable photo attachments, with JPEG and JPG being the most common.

PDF is the most common type for attachments of TEXT...like documents. And is most widely used because it's cross-platform compatible.

So, as far as I know only:

JPEG
JPG
GIF
PNG
PDF

are acceptable formats for FiberglassRV.
