I have a 72 13' Boler with an awning rail attached. I have read and digested every tid bit here, and like an elephant have gleaned a ton.
I have found one mans solution and heres a link to see what he did.

Any way, I just found a man in Independence Missouri who will make this awning ( Fabric only 8'x8' no poles or hardware) with the pastic sewn in a pocket for the rail, and a pocket sewn in at the outside end for a piece of conduit ( fabric one color 13oz vinyl) for $85.00 US.
