Well I am almost finished with my total restoration of my '86 13' scamp. But I threw out the old cushion covers before my wife was finished sewing the new covers. OH.gif Can someone post a photo of how the small back cushion is joined to the large back cushion? A measurement of the strip in between the two covers would be great.

Thanks,
Gary

Gary,

I don't have a picture but the strip measurement on mine is 6.25". My cushions are vinyl on the back and cloth on the front. The strip between is vinyl and is stiched into the bottom edge seam of both cushions. Since the back cushion sits on top of the bottom cushion the strip width should be about .25" taller than the bottom cussion. Hope this helps.

I can't provide a pic of the original covers. I can provide pics of cushions I cut out and then had my wife sewn into covers with the plywood backing for the bench back side cushion.
What we did is separated the cushions from being sewn together. So for the front bunk, I've got 3 cushions. For the rear table/bed, 3 each side.

Good luck.

Gary, we just recovered our '84 13' Scamp cushions with the newer style covers, and were pleased to find that the old and new are still the same size. Here are some shots of how that fabric strip connects the two parts. The part of the strip that actually shows is 11 1/2" long by about 1" wide.

Thanks Jeff. That helps a bunch. Is the cushion jointing strip(hinge point) in the front or back(against the camper) when the cushions are correctly installed?

Thanks,
Gary

I asked myself the same question. After futzing with it a bit we put the hinge point (strip) towards the table and away from outside wall. This allows that end piece to easier fit that back corner curve.

Just my humble 2 cents worth.

It'll be interesting to see how many responses we get to this one. Could be something like discussion on which way the paper should come off the toilet paper roll.
