Once again, I'm floored at the work some people are able to put into such projects. Who would have figured you could salvage a wreck like that one? Now it's a beautiful trailer!

wow, thanks for that link! I think I will print it for my scrapbook! Yes we brought it home on a flat bed as we had about 200 miles or so to go- I am not moving it again until it goes to get new tires, wheel bearings and so forth!

I figured pressure washing was the most efficient way to get to the trailer beneath the mildew. You've put some of the handymen here to shame. Fantastic job.

Yes I BOW DOWN to you! An inspiration to us women here!!!! You give me confidence!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've taken off on the spiffing-up of our Scamp- merely because my Husband takes YEARS to get to things, and tends to be sorta Red-Greenish when he DOES... mickey-mouses things. I want things done nicely in the Scamp.

Thanks! Aside from my son pressure washing it for me (and he is going to rewire the lights hopefully for mothers day!) I have done it all. I need to have big projects cause I don't otherwise have a life!

That's a lot of work, very well-documented, leading to a comfy and personalized result. It's a Humpty-Dumpty story, because you really started with just the shell of an egg. If this one can be rehabilitated, I guess any old Scamp can be saved! Those cabinet doors are really unique. What were they originally made to fit? And what does your finished trailer weigh, please?

I hope others will persevere through Yahoo's registration process, which is not much more troublesome than any other sites (including this one, I say as the member formally known as Wheatridger and/or John McMillin). Once you join, you gain access to the only Scamp user's group I 'm aware of.

Hi there- the cabinet doors are a cool story... a couple of years ago I happened to drive by the house I grew up in (about a 2 hour drive from where I am now) and they just happened to be renovating the kitchen. They had all the old cabinets, counters and fixtures at the curb for the trash man! Well, I stopped and they said of course I could have them, so I took as much as would fit in my car. So the cupboard doors, as well and the closet doors, all the drawers and the sink you now see in the Scamp, are all from that trash pile! The finish I did on them was 4 colors of spray paint (emptying out cans!) and then some decorations with the sicks and rocks, and all covered in epoxy! They really are cool looking and very special to me! The middle cupboard, is going to be a mirror- I just have to get one cut to size!

I am not sure of the weight but I am figuring that it won't be too much different than the original- I have pretty much replaced everything with something similar if not even lighter!

I have loved this project- got alot done on my days off this last week that I don't have pics of yet- I hope to get it all sanded down outside, this coming up week!
