Very Nice!

Wayne,
We've a minor problem..."Nuestra Casita" already weighs 2 tons!
I've seen marble counters in some of the "gee whiz" rolling mansions that would probably flatten a Casita's tires, but the stone flooring is possibly not as heavy. Interesting concept, now if we were willing to give up the generator and a propane tank......, oh well, guess we'll just have to continue living with carpet for the time being.
It does 7.gif 7.gif nice and sure will outlast the carpeting.

Reminds me of "The Long, Long Trailer," and Lucy's secret rock collection!

John Mc,
Can't believe I'd forgotten Lucy's collection l31.gif
Doggone (and I wish they were gone) coyotes started a symphony about an hour ago and they are close enough that it is impossible to sleep. No respect I tell you,
they got no respect!

They are pretty bad over here too Kurt.

It's that time of year on the mountain.

I'm sure this isn't real stone. I've seen many patterns in laminates or vinyl that look like these and didn't I read that he wrote "simulated" ?

You'll don't have to replace an axel or get rid of anything! 94.gif

Take a look at my website at the kitchen floor. It's a floating floor that is easily disassembled should you have water problems (it was created in Europe for people who moved to and from apartments who wanted a portable floor!). There's no gluing, just a snap lock. You can put an edge around the perimeter if you like.

It's super easy to cut, easy to install, looks like tile or marble, whatever pattern you choose, and warm under foot.

Hey, Wayne, I looked a little closer, it is like a cultured stone, no? Will you brush on a sealant so it doesn't absorb and stain?
I use cultured stone on clients homes, gates, etc. It's a good product. Menard sells the plastic mould for this if someone wanted to make their own, but, I'm sure it would be much heavier?

It's veddy cool looking, Wayne!

Well no it's not cultured stone, it comes in a bag, the overlay is about a 1/2 in. thick.
It's a lightweight cement product that is somewhat flexable. Wayne

Wayne, there seems to be a lot of possibilities for this product! Any idea how it performs in sub zero temps?

Can you share where one may purchase this? It looks like something I'd love to get my hands into! smile.gif

Your floor is going to be very nice. I just love it. I could totally see this in a lower level and thick area rugs over it.

Thanks!

Ah - this product looks very similiar to www.granicrete.com - which is also another concrete overlay system. I'm a certified installer and am picking up my 1970 Boler tonight, and had this exact same question about doing it to my own floor.

I do think I'll do my floor and post photos of it up here, I was also thinking about using the pattern up the stove area and cover that up as well....

you'll also see a Granicrete countertop in my scamp some day too

Weight - like the poster mentioned - the floor will be about 60lbs and I'll have a countertop that will be about the same.....

Photos as I start my project and finish them!

my site with more photos if anyone is interested - - still building
