After trying EVERYTHING except putting the seam tape back on - I finally came up with something that I am not only satisfied with, but actually love! Here are the finished pics of my seams!!!

After many, many, many, trials and errors, I finally accomplished this with SPRAY PAINT. I tried to stencil in the traditional way, but the texture of the ensolite just made the image blurry. I almost gave up on the whole idea until I decided to try spray paint. I actually used a textured spray paint (velvet) and the entire project took me under an hour!

I am inspired, since my Scamp has burgundy velvet curtains and cushions, original and in excellent condition, I am now going to add some filigrees that will enhance the somewhat Victorian interior. Terrific touch. aplas.gif Steph

Same idea as tattooing a scar! Looks great!

I love the 'hide the scar' technique you used ... but I still have the ugly old yellow seam tape over my '83 Scamp seams ... what did you use to remove the tape residue? AND how is the seam covered or filled in? ... some of my seams have a 1/4" gap!

Thanks

Hi Ron,

Most of the seam tape was gone when I acquired this poor neglected Scamp. The rest came off fairly easily and the residue came off with alcohol and elbow grease. I filled the gaps with caulk- almond mostly. I have had a long standing issue with trying to get them just right- white caulk too bright, almond too dark, I have tried EVERYTHING to make them blend and finally came up with this idea!
