I prefer to wash dishes outside. This cheapie invention (parts under $15) makes it easier. The dishpan and storage crate happen to be the same size. Unfortunately, I had bought the drain first and the plumbing got a little elaborate. To have enough room I had to add height with some wood pieces. If you used a simpler hole and plug arrangement you might not need the extra height and the design would be more elegant. I like the real kitchen sink look tho, and the strainer works great. It connects to the portable gray water tank. It takes up some space in the truck, but I think it's worth it.

Cool invention, Maggie! About thirty years ago in tent camping days I had a plastic double walled sink made by Reliance. It had a hand pump and a stopper and held a couple gallons in the cavity formed by the two walls. Wish I'd kept it...haven't seen anything like it since.

Is this the one? They are still out there. I wanted something I could wash a frying pan in. I could of course dump the water from the basin into the tank, but this is just more fun.

My goodness...that's it! Mine didn't have the fancy top cover and it was ugly green like the old Reliance hassock porta potti...but that's it. Now if they sell 'em in the Great White North, I'll get one

Do you throw your pots out?

What pots. No food in post when you use this.

One small non-stick skillet almost wipes clean. Maximum dirty dishes, one skillet and one small pot, maybe a cooking utinsil or two.

An even better way is to do tinfoil dinners - no pots - no pans
only one glass one fork and if you use plastic glass and plastic fork no washing at all
no muss - no fuss
