So I get my January 2007 edition of Trailer Life magazine, and on page 12 they're talking about THE Rally.
What is that? ask.gif
How does it effect The Gathering? ask.gif

Good Sam sends out info too.

It's for all RVs. Mostly a big commercial thing.

No competition....

Tho they are having this fun game

I don't live that far away from Redmond. A couple years ago I saw many of the RVs heading to The Ralley. I didn't see a fiberglass trailer in the bunch. In fact I saw very few trailers. Most very expensive Motor Homes pulling what many of us would consider very nice tow vehicles and some towed vehicles would be way overkill for our little trailers.

And from the looks of the reservations about the best it does is draw some of big guys away from Bullards Beach.

Kurt got the 06 Guiness book of world records for XMAS. We looked up whoopie cushion sit and there IS no record.

So, I think thier claim is full of hot air!

Frederick: A flood of mobile home memories. That looks just like the single-wide Anna and I lived in during the summer of '83 in Lyman, Wyoming. I think it was a Buddy. For unknown reasons the tv antenna was not on the roof but in the living room. No T-Bird but a '78 Honda Civic...one of the real little ones. Glad we didn't spend the winter in it! 61.gif

In 2005 the Great North American RV Rally was held in Redmond, Oregon. It's a traveling rally and each year is held in a different spot. I think the rally referenced in this topic is an offshoot and not the same thing. Doesn't mean it's not going to be huge (just like the RVs that will show up), but is not any competition for the Oregon Gathering either. In 2005, after leaving the Oregon Gathering I spent a week in Sisters, Oregon and was surrounded by monster motorhomes that had just come from the Redmond rally. Nice people, but guess who ended up giving the most tours roflol.gif

Here's some history of the Great North American RV Rally if anyone is interested.

Donna,
If it's not the same group, they want to think it is. You can read more about The Rally here.

A couple quotes:

The anticipation is running high, for very good reason. "Each year The Rally gets better and better," remarks Sue Bray, Executive Director of the Good Sam Club. "We take pride in listening to what attendees say after every Rally and make additions and changes to create the best possible Rally event for everyone."

A word to the wise: Don't wait to register! Redmond was a big hit in 2005, and it's expected to be even more popular in 2007.

Donna,
I bet you did give more tours than those other guys. Of course you can see most of what the other guys have to offer at any RV show or RV dealer.
