I purchased a Kelty Carport for my awning . It works great! I use 2 telescoping fiberglass poles to have it in a traditional canopy position and when the wind comes up I remove the poles and stake it down. It has a shock corded aluminum frame like a tent that keeps it stable in wind and rain. Everything is dry and protected. The one drawback is it is nylon and is shady but doesn't cut the heat like canvas does. Very light and compact, setup is about 5 minutes. Heres a Link

Sorry Gina, The digital camera was on the fritz when we had it up. The next sunny day, I''ll pull the trailer out for some before pics.

David, I'm really glad that someone tried it. I thought they would make a great alternative when I ran across them last summer (my post). I'll definitely put that back on my "things to consider" list.
I'll look forward to a picture when you get a chance.

I too have been looking into this awning. This model may be discontinued, but the newer, and more expensive model, looks terrific. Its called the "deluxe carport" and I believe it comes in only one size.

Hi, I'm a newbie and wanted to share my little awnings that I made for my windows. Hopefully the pic is here.

NINA!!! Now THAT excites me.... But you must UNDERSTAND, I don't get excited all that easily, LOL!!
What are you using to connect to the top side of the window, and are there any supports to keep it extended?

Hey Doug, I'll take a couple of pics of the frame and send another reply this weekenc. I made the frame from Lowes materials and a couple of nuts.
