I have an AGM battery in my Compact II for a couple years now. No maintenance execpt to clean the battery terminals. Mine is charged with 45 watt solar panel. For a battery that's hard to get to and located inside the trailer under the seat it's really the best choice. They can be mounted in any postion, even upside down. I think mine is an 90amp hr model.

When I replaced my trailer battery I went for an Optima Yellow Top, which you can buy at Costco and many other places. Like the Odyssey battery it uses a glass matt to stabilize the space between the battery's lead plates and a hydroscopic electrolyte gel. It's almost as tough and durable as the Odyssey, but at $160 it's half the cost.

Here's a link to a diagram showing the vent valve on an Optima AGM and it also seems to indicate that the terminals don't need cleaning?? Some sources don't recommend mounting upside down because of the venting.
