Greetings everyone,

My favorite meal to cook company use to be Chicken capellini made in the pressure cooker. Yet it did require another pan for the pasta and that can take quite a bit of our water supply which is fine when we are hooked up but not when we are conserving while boondocking.

So I'm looking for easy to prepare but gracious meals to serve those people who I want to stun with my culinary expertise!! flowers.gif

I'd love to see what you'd cook up.

Bacon: Thick-sliced, possibly over-priced (cooks better over fire in a cast-iron pan)
Pancakes: Home made (flour/baking powder/egg or Bisquick)
Maple Syrup: Real (not "pancake syrup" or corn syrup)

Wait, wait, wait: not done yet!
Yes, you can have a piece of bacon while you're waiting for your pancakes.
Yes, have some more juice or coffee, it'll be a while.
And isn't it a lovely morning.

Mike and I take a 10" and/or 12" camp style Dutch Oven on most campouts where we plan on having company. It is easy to fix a Lasagna and a loaf of homemade Sourdough Bread while you're visiting or playing games.

There are loads of other recipes that can be real crowd pleasers. Almost anything you fix in an oven or a crockpot can be adjusted for the Dutch Oven.

Lasagna

1-1 1/2 lb. ground beef
1 large jar spaghetti sauce
1 tsp. ground oregano
3 cups grated mozzarella cheese
2 cups cottage cheese
2 eggs
1 box of lasagna noodles

Brown beef, drain fat. Mix with spaghetti sauce & oregano. Mix grated cheese, cottage cheese, and eggs. (Save a little cheese for topping). Layer uncooked lasagna noodles, meat mixture, and cheese mixture. Make at least two sets of layers. Sprinkle top with remaining grated cheese. Pour about 1 cup (or less) water over top. Cook for about 40 minutes, with 7-8 coals under and a full ring on top.

Of the Barley kind, quick an easy to serve.
Very tasty especially served from brown long necked bottle that has been nesting in a large vat of ice for a coupla hours.
CAUTION:
Over consuming of these dittys can cause all sorts of different situations....
