Regular gas at Towne Pump in Newport is $3.19 today. That is several cents less than last week, so maybe there is hope for summer travel to the Oregon Gathering!

And if you get caught attempting to pump your own gas, both the gas station and you are fined. I believe the fine is around $500.
Let the nice attendent pump it for you.

Last week in Va $2.63.9 Last year on my way to the Oregon Gathering and my first day in Oregon I got out and had a couple of gallons in my truck before the young attendant came out and told me I can't pump my own gas, I thought he was kidding and told him I had pumped gas long before he wore 3 cornered underwear he chuckled and said no!!!! its against the law. I couldn't believe it, something about keeping folks employed or sumpin, anyway I went back and sat in the truck while he washed my windshield, cool
