Where can I source a black spare tire cover in Canada? The ones I found locally are either the wrong color or too big, even the ones from the catalogs. Wheel is 13", outside tire diameter is about 24". Thanks!

I got my hard cover at a local Suzuki dealership, comes prepainted in all the common colors. Our wheels are 14inches (I think) and the cover is for an suv (17in??). It still fits on the same way and tightens via a draw string on the underneath backside. Had no problems with it 'moving'. IF I were to be concerned about it moving on a smaller sized wheel, I'd go to a bike shop and buy a tire tube, partially inflate it and put it over the wheel/tire, then maybe add a bit more air to in and then install the cover overtop. Ours turned out like this but the signage here is still 'in progress'!!!

In my case, though, there is a weird iron frame extension on each side of my spare that would prevent anything larger than the actual tire from fitting on it. Previous owner creation, I think... not the prettiest thing, but quite sturdy. Perhaps I could get a larger vinyl cover and have it reduced, though.

I am also looking for a new spare tire cover . . . although not black!

I found this web site that has small trailer spare tire covers in several colors . . . including your black. (They also have brown, tan and white.) If you can't find any locally, you might want to order.

Thanks. Yes, there are quite a few U.S. suppliers I could get this from. But up here in Canada it seems that we're always stuck with limited choice, and in this case, ordering from the U.S. would probably mean paying double or triple the cost of the actual item if you add duty, shipping, etc. Custom graphics shops are a good lead, though. Maybe I can find one here.

My concern with going with one of the likes posted above is that they are NOT a hard cover and in most cases after a handful of seasons, they will crack, fad, or rot and end up looking rather shabby, needing to be replaced. Daniel, a quick trip to a welding shop (unless you can weld yourself) will have the old bracket wacked off and a new one installed inside of about an hour. My mount is a very simple " A " shaped frame bolted to the backside of the rear bumper. Where the bar crosses the two arms thast form the A, I have welded on a long bolt that holds the wheel/tire to the framework. You cannot see the framework from behind, which is another nice 'clean' bonus.

I think I might still get the vinyl cover if I can ever get my hands on one. The vinyl cover on my tow vehicle doesn't show any wear at all after quite a few years. But I do like the idea of having that big heavy "H" on my bumper replaced with a smaller "A". Got any pics of your "A" by any chance?

any upholstery shop can make one for you in no time. I just finished a beige one with green piping for the spare on my Surfside.

I located a beige one with black piping locally that looks pretty good.

Daniel, my camera is packed away pending a jaunt this coming weekend, in the mean time, you might consider L KING around in a local 'auto recycler' one that specialises in foreign SUV'S or a bone yard for R V's and look for a used hard cover...cheaper than buying new......just my 2 cents worth, wet coast style, LOL!!!!!!
