We would like to get an awning similar to the Scamp or Airstream. Does anyone have one to recommend? We saw the posts on the Kelty car awning but were looking for more of a roll up style that is actually attached to the camper outside. Do we need to worry about drilling holes into the Burro to hold this? Do they leak through to the inside when it rains? Does this add too much weight? Any other positive or negative comments?

Thanks
Rob

Try a search on the word "awning" (search tab is in the upper right corner). You'll get a gazillion hits on awnings, many dealing with exactly your questions. We haven't quite taken the plunge yet. We had pretty good luck on our last trip with an 8X10 tarp tied along the roof and held up by poles and stakes (not an original idea....saw it at the Eggscursion in Townsend TN this spring.....thanks George!). Simple and cheap. If we decide to stick with this method, we'll make something from awning fabric. Good luck.

Here's one discussion, and it has info regarding the double-hull:
