Few year ago i own a boler and i renove it !

But i want more space a toilet and shower . i bought a Scamp 16 and sell the Boler just before the winter , i make just a trip with the scamp and i love it

This spring i want to make some minor renov to the scamp
WOOOWWWWWWW !!! deception the floor was rotten under the furnace , i decide to make a major repair ( remove all the left side of the scamp and replace the floor and at the same time , the shower tub was worn and deformed

For the shower tub, i replace it with a stainless steel tub make by a local metalshop i install it with not the original toilet, i put a potty in the shower compartiment!!

The last week end i use the scamp and all was perfect!!!!

During the renovation i rewire all the interior wiring, put the battery on the tong , the previos owner put it in the interior and i dont like this and i put a new converter intelli-power 45 amps and some led lights and also i buy a new Honda 2000 generator
The previous owner put a new 3500 pounds axle with all new brake system and a new frige
During the renovation a make all repairs that i see , minor or not , 2 months of work ,all time after work and week end was on the scamp

And now i am loan for nothing to make

Have you considered laying something over the SS floor pan for those cold days? I'm thinking of something like either of these products below might be nice.

wow what a great job. Did the old wood floor have fiberglass coating on the top and bottom of the original floor? I Saw some white coating on the old floor photo but could not tell if it was carpet glue. Scamps are supossed to have a fiberglass coating over the flooring I was curious if yours had that or not, since it rotted out? Thanks.

The Scamps have epoxy on the bottom, but not on top. Top is simply painted white. with Killz or something similar...

I really like the way you remodeled the bathroom! You can pull out the porta-potti and have almost a regular sized shower. It looks great, too. Good work.

My 1988 has an fiberglass resin soaked floor. Maybe the older trailers the stuff was painted on, but not now. There used to be a picture on the Scamp Trailer webside that showed the plywood in a tub floating in liquid, That was the resin.

Interesting... Mine is also a 1988 (16'), and it does have resing coating, but only on the bottom. I know this because I just replaced a section of the subfloor where it had rotted from a water tank leak - not a pretty sight nor a fun job.

It definitely is only resined on the bottom of the chipboard flooring on mine, and had a thin coat of white paint on the top. Looked the same as in the photos in this thread...

On my 1989 scamp it have a coat af resin just on the bottom of the floor
When i replace the floor i put a coat of resin on 2 side of the wood and after scelling with fiberglass i put a pther coat on 2 side and i paint the top with a epoxy floor paint
I also repaint all the floor on the scamp with this paint

I use the scamp many time this summer and fall and all work perfectly as a new scamp and more !!!

I love my rv and i was entirly satified . the shower have space a it easy to clean

Nice results for all your work. Not only have you made repairs, but you have made it better than it was originally. The stainless steel shower pan was a great idea. Is there any insulation under the shower pan? I'm imagining it could be cold for the feet. Roy's ideas would help cure that!

I have it in the shower in my 16'. 2 pieces fits the shower floor perfectly, and it doesn't mar the fiberglass. If you read the description, it actually is designed to protect fiberglass from abrasion.

How did you get the plywood off of the resin? And to replace you just resined up the new piece and put it down and then put weights on it to hold it down?

I'm not Yvon, but I'll chime in and say that you cannot remove plywood from resin because it's a coating. It would be like "removing the wood from the varnish" - not possible.

When you put in new wood you can re-coat it with resin (and/or add fiberglass cloth or reinforcement, as suitable). This is in general, since I can't see your specific trailer.

Oh, and resin alone will not be enough "glue" to hold a floor down. You would need to tab in with cloth, or use fasteners, I would think (again, not looking at your trailer).
