The last weekend of April much to my husbands chagrin, I took the sander and scraper to our 1975 Boler. Years ago in order to cover those darn spider cracks, we used a rubberized deck coating on our trailer. Thinking that decks were cleaned easily and it would be flexible enough for the travel of the trailer...Well,it looked okay for a couple years, then we re-coated....Still couldn't clean the stuff properly. Then a couple years ago I found the same stuff in white that had a bit of a gloss to it and I was told it would clean easily...NOT.... It also had MANY rust marks that refused to come out (from the rockguard holders etc)---it was also starting to bubble in spots....I was NOT happy any more and knew something had to be done.
Here is the pictures of our saga....

You can see where we have just scraped and stripped and where we have cleaned with paint thinner and steel wool.

I then spent DAYS getting rid of the silicone around the old leaky windows...We then got stripper on then so eventually decided to replace front and back windows. Someone professional did it and it took him almost 2 hours per window..(Coquitlam Glass)

I had black paint all around all the windows and the belly band. Yup, all that came off too....

I think this was just about ready to be painted...

Body work done by us to remove spider cracks and where I sanded too much of the gel coat off..(also left some of the stripping solvent on too long and that needed repairing too)

We had already done the re-do on the inside with the screen door and front dinette/built in porta-potti.We also years ago had Reace make a couple of overhead cabinets on either end and install a new axle and brakes, so I think/hope we are done with our renovations.
Now on to camping---next trip the Oregon Meet!!!!!! See you there!
