So after the first trip out this past weekend with the trailer I realized that I hate using that rocker pump. So I got to thinking that one of those Shurflo pumps is more then I would want to spend so I took a trip to the junk yard and bought a windshield washer pump for $4.00. Finished the install today and it works great!!!! I get some pics up tomorrow of it flowing water. The great thing about it is if dies you can still use the rocker pump. Not sure if anyone else have tried this or not.

The local PA store here in Winnipeg has a 12 volt Hella Headlight washer pump that I am trying to rig up in a portable shower system. But you just gave me another project to do I will buy another and hook it up in the water system.

RV Lifestyles in Calgary has some Shurflo pumps for $59. They purchased them from a manufacturer who went out of business.

Kevin, Kentj do you know how much battery drain your electric pumps use? My 1972 came with a pump but I sold it before we took it camping and never got a chance to see how many hours you could get from it on a regular deep cycle battery.

I have an electric pump on my water tank and can assure you that you will run out of water loooong before you will run out of battery power

I'm not too sure, I don't this its that much, but tomorrow I'll bring my meter home from work and check it out.

Ok so here are some pics of the pump working away......as for how much it draws when running it was 4.886 amps, which is a little high but really how long would it be on for at a time? Only 10 or 15 seconds at a time I guess.
