Has anyone made a custom floor grate to put in the shower floor area?
Or has anyone bought a prefab product to use on the shower floor?
Please post your ideas.

I was thinking of a slightly raised floor, maybe a wood grate. I think I remember seeing some pictures posted a while back, but couldn't turn anything up in the seach engine.

Thanks!

This is one that I have seen that I like.

I also like the look of a Teak grate but I like anything thinner as we need as much height as we can get.

This is what I did in a Scamp 13 Delux. Using clear Pine.

What did you treat the wood with?

I bought a prefab teak grate from camping world. I don't remember the brand, but it is a common item.

It was 35 or so bucks last year.. no doubt it is more now.

It fits perfectly lengthwise in my Burro bath, but is an inch or so shy in width. Not that big a deal for me.

It is always clean, and I lift it every once in awhile to clean the floor under it.

Seems like everyone over in Casita land uses the Dri-Dek, as I did too. Wood does sound nice though.

I didn't treat the wood with anything. It dries out quickly after I use it. After 3 years, it still looks good.

The total height is about 3-1/4". That makes the toilet seat to floor more comfortable for me.

I made one like this for my old camper that had a shower ( sniff)
Anyway I used redwood and brass screws. I sold it with the trailer, I always thought that was a mistake.
