Full Version: Pea Salad

This recipe comes from our old school secretary who now lives in Florida (if she's even still alive). She was one of the best cooks this world has ever known. This recipe won a ribbon at the CA State Fair many years ago.

16oz package frozen peas
1/2 c diced onion
1/2 c diced celery
1/4 c sliced water chestnuts
3/4 c sour cream
1 1/2 T mayo
Juice of 1/4 of a lemon
salt and pepper to taste

Combine early in the day. Cover. Refrigerate. When ready to serve add 1/2 c crisp bacon, crumbled, and 1/2 c salted cashews

I've never been a real big pea lover, but I love this salad! Just typing the recipe is making my mouth water!

It sounds great except I'm going to leave the water chestnuts out.
