Looks like a good Idea. We like Quartzsite. We spent New Years Evening there in Dec 31, 1999 and Dec 31, 2000. At the "Silver Buckle". Had a good tome and it was cheap.

Count me in!

We spent Thanksgiving at Alamo Lake, Arizona with a small group of 5 Fiberglass Trailers and 10 wonderful folks! We had a great Thanksgiving dinner and many wonderful evenings around a campfire under starry desert skies. All in all a great time with good people. Most said they would be attending Quartzsite in February. Hope to see all of them, all of you from last year and any more who would like to come out and dry camp!

Doug and Michelle

PS Ranger Duke and Bev, glad to hear that you plan on coming out. It would be great to see you two again!
George Campbell
well the holidays are over and its time to get back in the camping mode.
We are going to try and get the same area we had last year. It worked out very well with lots of space all to ourselves.
Betty and I will be there Wednesday Feburary 4th, pick out the spot and post "Pie Plate" signs on the frontage road to direct people. I don't think Doug and Michelle will make it until Friday, so I will try and call him with GPS coodinates for posting later that week. We sure had a lot of fun last year and this should be even better. Really looking forward to seeing everyone.

Any questions, post them here and we will try and answer them

See Everyone Soon

I may drop by. I plan to swing down to the desert, taking in the lower Colorado R. for the first time. I will need a good winter warm-up by then!
George Campbell
Bob & Peggy

I hope you do, it's always good to see new faces. We had a lot of fun last year, but I can not promise warm weather. Then again, it has to be warmer than where you're at.

See You
George & Betty

Yes, we would like to be there too........directions or gps coordinates appreciated...

Hi all.

Planning to be at Dome Rock for the meet.
We will find a spot amongs the rocks somewhere.
Going down the coast via Oregon and California and cutting across for the desert.
I 5 is just too boring but faster.Probably check out Midland and Mayflower on the Colorado first.
See y'all down there.
Allan and Raili and Lola the wirehaired foxterrier.

Welcome Everyone

Directions to the area:

Aprox 5 miles west of Quartzsite on I-10 take the Dome Rock Rd. exit (#11). If heading west, go under the overpass at the end of the offramp. Go east on the frontage road. Aprox 100 yards on the right we will have a "Pie Plate" sign directing you from there. Last year it was about a mile down the frontage road on the right.
Sorry I can not be more exact, but it depends on what's open with a large enough area
Last year, nobody got lost so I guess that was a good thing. It's hard to miss a bunch of little white eggs.

See You There
George & Betty
Gina D.
I'll be there on the 5th. Anyone else?
Greg A
We'll be coming in after school on Friday the 6th like last year, so we'll probably be getting in about 8-9pm. Just going to be me and Dalton this year, the girls forgot and are committed... 81.gif

Will be the first time to use the new Bag Awning. I hope we don't have a 4am awning scramble like last year....

Hi all - looks like this will be another eggs-tra special weekend. Hope it's warm! banana.gif

Frederick - Thanx.gif for posting the coordinates for GPS-ers. And George, Thanx.gif for the pie-plate directions for those of us who are electronically challenged roflol.gif

Gina - we're thinking of heading out to Dome Rock from our park site on the 5th, so we'll see you and the pups then. Take care - L 'n D
Gina D.
I'll be there early afternoon. I have to sidetrack to Corona to drop off 3/4 of the herd.

Change in plans, old girls staying at the hotel, pup is coming instead. She needs to be socialized, so ... kiddies have a job to do!

If you plan to dine in Quartzsite, the "Best Mexican Food Restaurant" is quite good. I enjoyed the sopes and the other 14 people at my table cleaned their plates.

Also, for apple pie fans, there's an apple pie place called "Grandma's Apple Pies" that you must try. It's located on the south side of the freeway facing north not too far from the permanent RV store (Gamblers). Best apple pie that I've ever had. They are baked fresh and the owner concocted a semi-thick milky carmel sauce that is wonderful on the pie. Others eating it said that it's the best they've ever had as well.

The weather should be nice for you in February. Have fun and spend some money to boost the economy.

Hello everyone,

Thank you for all the great 'GPS and site directions'. Lord willing, I'll
be there around the 3rd or 4th., and hope to meet you all. Joyce U. and Frederick Thanx.gif , I know. I met you at Bullards Beach, Bandon Gathering last July.

Drive Safely Everyone !

Fellow FGRVers,

Glad to hear from all of you who are going to be attending The Quartzsite Gathering!
I am uncertain about what day Michelle and I will becoming out because of uncertainties at work. However, if we can't get out there early (4th or 5th) I'll post actual GPS coordinates from George for any late arrivals.
Also, I'll be briging a "big" pot in case anyone wants to do the "soup" thing again this year.
I'll also be bringing firewood and ask anyone else who can to bring some.

Can't wait to get out there! Doug and Shell
djstump
We can't arrive until Saturday afternoon, but are looking forward to the egg rally.

I am looking forward to this. A week away! After literally living in my rig all summer in the same spot on weekends, this will be my first "camping for fun" trip since last spring.

I did a short one niter out at a desert campground to watch a storm, but that was more using the rig as a viewing platform out of the weather than camping.
BobB
Sorry to say I'm not going to make it. Time constraints won't allow a longer trip now and I'm looking at 600 miles each way for just the Quartzite Gathering. Still planning to do AZ and NM, but it will have to wait until March. Have a good one!
Alexandra B
Looks likewe can't come either this time. We have a painting business and when people want to give you money...........Sigh I really wanted to talk with you all and see your eggs, and of course show off our new baby...

We have directions to the Gathering;

The Mother Ship has landed (you had to be there). Bud and Carol are there and have camped at almost the same area we had last year. They said it's about 100 yards to the West. Ranger Duke and Bev are there along with a couple of others. Bety and I will be there Wed AM.

Aprox GPS N33 deg 38.606
W114 deg 18.171

It's 1 1/2 miles east of the Dome Rock Rd. exit, south side of the frontage road.

See You There

George and Betty
Gina D.
I don't have GPS, But I am betting I can find it tongue.gif

What George said!! We'll miss ya - L 'n D
Kurt & Ann K.
Wish we were there!!! Howdy to you all. Enjoy a "peep" for us, and we pray it won't rain on your parade.

According to the weather predictions it looks like I'll probably be operating a snow plow here at home. No complaints though, we need the moisture.

Kurt & Ann K.

The Oliver Road Crew were all looking forward to being in the group at Dome Rock- but alas, life put a quirk in our plans. Our son, Sgt. David N. Roach, has been called back into active combat duty in Iraq...he will be shipping out February 10---Big David left two days ago to go into Tennessee to spend a few days with him before he deploys. So..Evon and Pam are holding down the "fort" here in Quartzsite. Please...stop by if you are in Quartzsite for the rally...We are in Desert Gardens on Kuehn Rd. Please pray for our son...and the freedom of "Our Wonderful USA"!
Pam Roach
Pat And Arleen
We will pray that for him, and all of the troops, We are heading up to Quartzsite on fri. and should be there by lunch.
Kurt & Ann K.
Pam,
Ask and you shall receive! Your Son is in our daily prayers and was included in our "Town Prayer Meeting" on Wednesday evening. Those in the military are close to our hearts, particularly since our granddaughter graduated from boot camp [at] Fort Jackson, SC today.
Travel mercies for Big David also.
Kurt & Ann K.

Just wanted to say "Thank You" to all the great folks who came out and made the '09 Quartzsite Gathering the best so far. Michelle and I enjoyed meeting and camping with all of you. Looking forward to 2010! Doug and Michelle
Gina D.
I waved at ya when you were leaving.. thanks for putting it on.

Still out here, "enjoying" the wind and rain LOL. Dave and Leslie went back to the park due to heater problems.

Sorry about being scarce.. this was more the pups trip than mine. She did OK. Thanks to everyone for helping!

H. David & Leslie de Beaux
Doug & Michelle - Got to say 'thank you' and 'happy trails' to Betty & George as they were leaving, but sorry we missed your departure. We'll add our thanks to all who made this event a success ... in spite of the 'liquid sunshine'! winky.gif We had lots of fun even if the weather kept us from visiting with some of the other "Egg-nutz". Also, Thanx.gif to all who posted photos here and on the CasitaForum website - our camera batteries took a cue from our heater and croaked helpme.gif so we had no pics. Safe travels to all - L 'n D
George Campbell
Thank everyone so much for taking the time to join the 2009 Quartzsite Gathering.
This one showed that even the weather can not dampen the spirits of Casita owners. What a great group of people.

Thank you all

George and Betty
