I,m unable to reply to any P.M.
This is what it always says in the error I get.
Can a Mod or someone check into it,??
Thanks.

I can give you a guess, based on the message (I think I got that one once too), and then you can try it:

I think that when you hit "reply," the new message automatically has all the text of what the person sent you in the text box, and it's too much. So how about if you try erasing that first, to start with an "empty" reply window, and then type your message and send it.

I have a feeling that will work.

....as frustrating as it is, that IS what you need to do, especially if you are replying to a message of any length!!! I figure this thread will be moved, but I'm wondering if there is anything that can be done to the program to eleviate this issue???

You can only have one block of quoted text in a PM. Notice the error:
You have posted more than the allowed number of quoted blocks of text, I think we're only allowing one block of quoted text in a reply on the forums too. Quoted text was getting out of hand and making everything hard to read. Unless you have a picture embedded, I'd suggest members always preview [Preview Post] before for clicking [Add Reply]. It's easier to fix a post first rather than at "edit."

Doug, et al. At the top and bottom of every forum topic are two sets of buttons

Clicking [Add Reply] will open a completely blank reply box. If you click [Reply] within a topic, you get quoted text. You can erase all of it however.

Your choice, both methods work. 4.gif

I just exchanged a P.M. with Brian and I found the only way I could reply to him is by completely deleting all 'quotes' in the message. NOT that its a big deal, mind you.....

I'm now wondering 54.gif "How long have you moderators been work.gif with computers to get as good as you all are at it?? You guys are all GREAT, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK, HUH!!!
Donna D.
Doug, you should never ask a woman her age 76.gif ... okay, so I won't tell you that... but I've been hammering computer keyboards since 1968 ohmy.gif I wouldn't necessarily say I'm good at 'em, just determined!

WHY Donna!!!
I'm floored that you'd even 'suggest' I was 'fishing' for your age.....LOL!!!
...But ya know what they say about women who drive OLD trucks, LOL!!!!!
Again the whole 'MOD' staff does a bang up job for the rest of us here.

There are work arounds to the one quote limit on both posting and PM's. The first thing to do is get rid of the multiple sequences of Quote (wrapped in the square brackets). Leave one at the beginning and the one at the end should end with /Quote (again in the square BB code brackets). Then you can add the names of the person you are quoting and change text colour. Here is an example:

Atta boy, Roy! I was going to try to explain how to do that, but decided it wouldn't make sense. (Too tedious to explain.) You nailed it, though.
Thanks! goodposting.gif

Atta boy, Roy!

Thank you Mary.
I was surprised I could do it with out asking how old you were or my knowing much about the BB code.
