Full Version: Resize Picture Help Using "Shrink Pictures" site
FiberglassRV > FiberglassRV Website Notes > Basic Website Tutorials
Donna D.
We have restricted pictures on FiberglassRV to a maximum of 600 Pixels. This is to save valuable bandwidth and server space. For those that don’t want to install additional software, you may want to use http://www.shrinkpictures.com/

To prepare a picture for posting to FiberglassRV: Follow the instructions then choose "600 Pixels" then click on "Resize" then click on "Download this picture now" and save the file to your computer. This is the picture you will upload.

For your avatar: Click on "Shrink Avatar" (in red near the middle of the page) then click the Custom radio button and size to 75 then click on "Resize" then click on "Download this picture now" and save the file to your computer. This is the picture you will upload through “My Controls.”

Another alternative if you are on XP is to use the image resizing tool they provide free of charge. Full details:

Thank you, Donna, thank you! thank you! I've struggled trying to find an efficient resizing method. I like to capture maximum pixels when I shoot photos, and rarely need to resize, so I didn't want to get another program just to do that. This site you provided the link to fills the bill perfectly.

Hi Joe.

640X480 means 640 pixels X 480pixe;s - and that is a good size. Really it's the kilobyte (kb) size that counts. Though bandwidth costs have dropped delivering lots of images can get expensive for a website's operator.
