Nancy in Oregon
Bullard's Beach Campground is now full for the weekend of the Oregon Gathering.

If you cannot attend the Oregon Gathering this year... please, please, please, do NOT CANCEL your campground reservation yet. Post your site here first to see if anyone needs it. (You will get all your money back with the exception of the $6 registration fee. Sites do not need to be canceled until 48 hours before the start of the reservation date.)

What to do if you cannot come to the Oregon Gathering:

  1. Post a note here. Include your loop & site number and the dates of your campground reservation.
  2. Complete & submit the Oregon Gathering cancellation form (click here). This will let Nancy know you are not coming.
  3. Check back here & also check your "New Messages" often to see if anyone wants your site.
  4. If your site is not taken by the week before the Gathering, go ahead & cancel your reservation with Bullard's Beach State Park.
  5. When your site is taken, come back here and edit your post to say the site has been taken.

What to do if you are looking for a site:

  1. More & more sites come available the closer it gets to July. You will get a spot. Plan on coming; don't panic. A site will open even if it is a few days before the Gathering.
  2. Check this thread often.
  3. If a site is available, send a private message to the person. Ask for a telephone number so you two can connect. (See next posting.)
  4. Also, check the Bullard's Beach Campground website often. Sometimes people will cancel without posting it here first or people who are not part of the Gathering will cancel their sites.
  5. When you have a site, complete a sign-up form (click here) for the Gathering so we will know you are coming and can have name tags, pickets and other items ready for you.

The next posting will explain how to transfer a campsite.

How to Switch a Site

There are two ways to take over a site from someone else. Either way, both parties have to pay a $6 change fee. (There is also a $6 change fee just to cancel a site so it does not cost anything extra to transfer a site to someone else.)

Option #1 - Canceling Site

• Work out a time between the two parties for when the site will be canceled by telephone (not on the website).
• Original owner of site calls ReserveAmerica (do NOT use the website) and cancels the site.
• Original owner of site then calls the new person and tells them the site has been canceled.
• New person then calls (do NOT use the website) ReserveAmerica and reserves that open site.
• Come back here and edit your post to say the site has been taken.

Option #2 - Adding Name to Reservation
• Original owner of site calls ReserveAmerica and has the new person's name added to reservation.
• ReserveAmerica then sends a new registration to the original owner.
• Original owner of the site then mails the new registration to the new person.
• New person sends the original owner of the site a check for the amount paid.
• Go here and sign up for the Gathering (or we will not know you are coming) Oregon Gathering Sign-Up Form

I am posting for Doris Lawson. Doris is cancelling her trip West and is giving up her site, here's the information:

Loop - A
Site - 15
Days - 10
In - July 10
Out - July 20

Doris doesn't do computers. I decided not to post her phone number rather have you send a PM to me. I'll then give you her phone number and post here that the site is taken.

WELL WITHIN HOURS THIS SITE WAS GONE.
Dale C
My dog Caleb and I were hoping to attend this year but it seems there are no more sites available. I would like to put us down as looking should a site come available for us and our 13' 1976 Scamp.

Thanks!

I am so sorry Nancy; I did not see your post about this until after I cancelled my reservation. I just called on the voicemail an hour or so ago; Pete and I were registered for A28 I think. We are sorry that we cannot attend, but we just got word yesterday that our nephew's wedding is that weekend and we need to be present. We COULD not miss it! We will try again next year or perhaps at another gathering!

Have fun!

I was able to get A-28. Am looking forward to attending.

Hi My wife and I ,Lee and Norma Senn, are looking for a site should one become available. We will be traveling with our dog "Yanni" and our 13 foot Burro. Please advise if any sites become available. Thanks Lee

Hello all; I'm looking to team up with someone that would be willing to switch sites at the beginning of the gathering if needed. I currently have site A40 with full hookups and might need a site with longer parking that would be easier to back into. I won't know until I get there and try and park in A40 that I have already reserved.

You may or may not be aware that I had two brain surgeries last year and decided that a travel trailer would be tough for me to handle moving forward. I ended up selling my Casita which will be picked up in April. The good news is that I'm on my way to recovery and bought a used Lazy Daze class "C" motor home. It may not make sense but to long of story for this thread.

I know you’re asking; if you don't have a fiberglass rv than why are you attending. I had already made reservations and planned on being in that part of the country anyway. Since I have attended twice before and missed last year. I wanted to attend this year and had already registered and made plans to attend before selling my Casita.

For my recovery I have a specialized 4 wheel recumbent type bicycle that I want to bring with me. My plans are to tow a small 5x8 cargo trailer to transport the bicycle in and bring with me. This is why I may need to switch spots.

I have been waiting to change my dates which are currently July 10th - 19th. If anyone is interested I can change my dates to match your planned dates. If you might be interested please let me know and what your current site number is.

Thanks; Kent

Hello Kent - sorry for the challenges you have faced lately, and wish you safe, happy travels in the Lazy Daze (if it can't be FG, a Lazy Daze is a super choice!). We aren't able to attend this year, but we wish you luck in finding a way to nab a larger site at Bullard's. And keep on healing! L 'n D

Alright Kent! I'm glad you're coming and have been thinking about you and your challenges. I'll send you a PM about some info... later today.

Hello all Just a note to let you know that my wife and I have acquired a site and will be attending the gathering. We appreciate your assistance. Thanks Lee
Greg Finke
We cannot attend this year!

Due to Brenda's new job promotion (and all that it entails), we will not be able to attend this years Bullards Beach event. Brenda now has to attend some CE training classes for her job, which will be held at Central WA University in Ellensburg. As Murphy's Law would have it, the dates for her training classes will be coinsiding with the planned Bullards Beach trip. Such is life! 30.gif

I have the following registration available to any interested party:

Bullards Beach State Park
Site B-45
Full hook-ups (water, 30 Amp power, sewer)
Booked for 4 nights stay, (Arrival Thursday, July 16 / Depart Monday, July 20)

If anyone is interested, let me know (either post here or send me a PM.) Price is $86.00 for the whole package. (My original cost).

Greg

On the upside, I will be taking the trailer with us to Ellensburg to stay in while Brenda attends her classes at CWU, (even if it is only to stay at the Ellensburg KOA), so we will still be getting to do some camping...sorta.
Laura & Rick
Greg, sorry to hear the bad - but good for Brenda - news. See you at Taidnapam.

My husband and I would like to attend so if anyone needs to cancel, we'd love to book a site.
Please send me a message.

Previously posted site (B-45) is gone.
With no "takers" after posting it for over a week, I released it back to the Oregon Parks Dept today (4/1). If you want this site, it's available until its "resold" by Oregon Parks. These are first come, first served, so don't wait too long.

We have an extra site available for the Bandon Bullards Beach trip. It is site # B B 14, which is a full hook-up site with a 50 amp breaker. If you are interested in this site PM ( private mail), us to let us know. The cost will be exactly what it would cost me. I will be canceling this site soon with the state park system. I will be at the NOG this week-end, so if I don't get back to you in a speedy manner don't worry, I will answer all e-mails as soon as I get back to my computer and contact you.

It looks like we'll be able to come to the Oregon get-together! woohoo.gif

If you have a site that you won't be needing, please let me know.

We'll be travelling a bit slow, with our three children under 5. If you have suggestions for kid-friendly campgrounds or must-see attractions between Winnipeg and Bandon, OR, please send them!

Looking for a cancellation at Bullard's for the rally. Looks like I'm the not the only one but I can always hope.

Looks like we won't be able to make it to the gathering this time 27.gif

The year has been a stressful disaster so far with many health issues with my family and friends. My mom just pulled through cancer surgery and has been given the all clear 94.gif so we thought we'd still make the trip. Now my dad's failing health has taken a turn for the worse with him hospitalized earlier this week with lymphoma, so it looks like our summer will be chock full of trips between here and Edmonton where he is in hospital. Mitchell was also hospitalized twice this year and I have a good friend going through chemo right now ... what's that saying ...when it rains it pours.

I sure could use a holiday! I wanted to bring the little trailer with us this time, but I haven't even had a chance to do a thing with it yet and it's not ready for a long trip.

Anyway, I hope someone from here can make use of our site B55. PM me to make arrangements.
Guillaine
Hi
Well it looks like we will not be able to attend. I booked our site last fall and we thought we would make it down again this year, but for various reasons we are going to stay closer to home this year. Maybe we will check out the praire gathering if we can get away.

The site I have available is A34.
Please PM if you are interested

Thanks
Guillaine
Pam Somera
I would very much be interested in either B55 or A34 if there are no takers. There was a couple of posts before mine wanting campsites also so I don't want to grab one until they have a chance. Not sure how to do this but I'll check later to see if anyone has grabbed these spots. I'm sorry you will not be able to go.

Here's hoping, Pam banana.gif

I am new at this and don't have a clue how to do a PM, help. After looking at the park map I am very interested in B55. How do I send a PM.

The easiest way is to just click on Lainey's name (in the left upper corner) in her post regarding the site opening up, then select 'send message". It's a piece of cake from there.

helpme.gif Hi everyone---we also need a spot for our 13', 1972 TrailMite, if any become available. We hope to be able to join this interesting group for the first time (although we've been to Bullards several times, just never when the Gathering was happening!). Iggy (the camper) has her heart set on it, so we hope we can find an available site. Thanks for any help with this! Teresa, Lynn, Max the dog and Iggy the camper.

Site B55 has been spoken for.

Due to health reasons I was not able to register earlier but now can do and want to! Is there anyone with a site you are needing to give up that has full hookups in A or B Loop? Please contact me directly and many, many thanks....was there in 2008 and really want to do this again. J. Joyce email: dawnvoyager[at]gmail.com helpme.gif and thank you!
Patrick M.
Thanks to Lainey, we will now be in spot B55!

Two things we learned in following Nancy's excellent "How to Switch a Site" instructions:

1. Monday and Tuesday are busy days with the Reservation people. Consider calling on another day to cancel/make reservations to avoid long wait times, or try mid-day. (Their recommendations.)

2. The canceled reservations may show up quickly on the on-line website, so staying on the site page and constantly refreshing, while waiting on hold to make the reservation, is a valuable tactic when there's long waiting times. We ended up booking on-line after Lainey gave us the "cancelled, your turn" call, as her cancelled days showed up "Available" on the website while I was still on hold. (She was on hold 20 minutes waiting to cancel.)

PLEASE, PLEASE every one who needs to cancel and every one who's now coming, please follow the procedures and two links on the top post of the first page of this topic.

Hello All,
We have never attended the Oregon Gathering, but it looks like we are going to need to cancel our reservation for this year. We are in loop C, number C39 for the nights of July 16, 17, 18, 2009.

We wish we could come, but another obligation has come up. We hope someone else can enjoy this campsite. It is near to a bathroom. I have paid the reservation fee plus one night at $20.00. The remaining $40 to be paid at check in. I'd like to get my money back.

Thanks & good luck.

B-31 is available!

Forgive me if this is a repeat. I am writing on behalf of Karen Langlois, she reserved this site for me, and I have a conflict. Karen said she posted this, but I can't find it here, so thought I'd repeat the news. Karen says:

"I have a site available..B31 which I made for Cory H....She is unable to go, so I posted the cancellation..It starts July 16, Thursday & goes until Sunday July 19..I need to be paid for it, $26.00 & 1/2of the $6.00 reservation fee...my e-mail is langlois.karen5[at]gmail.com or you can leave a message on FRv..Karen l "

Thanks much! This is a nice B-loop site so if you're out in "C" you might want this one.

Cory
