Any campground/rv park recommendations for CA Gold Country. Prefer somewhere between Jackson and Sonora on, or close, to the 49 with water and electric, thanks, D.

Here is a website that has Campground Reviews from other RVers like you and me. I have set it up for California so you can pick which town/city you want to look at. Just another tool that gives you some guidance.

Try 49er RV Ranch near Columbia or Angels Camp RV & Camping Resort near Calaveras County Fairgrounds and Glory Hole. Both are Good Sam Parks. You might also be able to stay at the Calaveras County Fairgrounds, called Frogtown RV Park (not open in May). That would be cheapest. Phone 209-736-2561. Unfortunately, the campgrounds at New Melones Reservoir (Glory Hole and Tuttletown) don't have electricity.

In addition to 49er in Columbia, the Fair Grounds in Sonora has hookups and a dump. Last I heard it was $20.
Our Fairgrounds is within walking distance of downtown Sonora. I'd say roughly a 3 block walk.

As a Placerville area local, I'd highly recommend that you come up this way and stay at the Coloma Resort in Coloma. Great RV park, right on the banks of the South Fork of the American River. Gold Discovery State Park is right on the other side of the river, Placerville is 15 min. south, Auburn is 1/2 hr. north. Lots of great things to see and do in our neck of the woods.

Thanks for the info, we ended up staying in Plymouth at the 49er RV Park. Clean, quiet, no pool or jacuzzi (renovation in progress) overall good stay. Close to Ione where I had business that Wed., will probably stay further south next time.

Plymouth is not between Jackson and Sonora. ;-)
