I did a quick search on Poconos and got Nothing.
I can't believe no one here hasn't found the perfect spot there yet.
We are passing by the Poconos and would like a stay a couple of days.

Anyone????

Pete,

I have camped in and highly recommend:
- Promised Land, beautiful lake
- Ricketts Glen, fabulous hike along a stream with many waterfalls

I have not been to Hickory Run but it has a boulder field I hear is very impressive.
Worlds End is also highly recommended.

check out www.dcnr.state.pa.us/stateparks/parks/index.aspx

If you would like more info I can check my files when I get home this evening.

Have been to Promised Land, Hicory Run and Ricketts Glen. All the state parks are great but I believe that Ricketts glen has no hook ups where the other 2 have electric.
Last fall we camped at Pocono KOA. It was fairly close to Bushkill falls, shopping, and attractions. Considering the way the state parks are raising their rates, it was fairly competive. We still will be going to state parks irregardless of the price hike. They have entirely too much to offer.
Hope this helps!

We are leaning toward Hickory Run because of the hookups. I figure I need electric for heat this time of year.

Thanks to all.

Hi,
Reserve America lists all the Federal parks with camping, and some KOAs for PA.
They are not listed by area, but have map links to find them.
Pennsylvania has some beautifu parks, enjoy!
