For those that have been asking and suggesting blogspot, I got it started. Will learn how to post my pics, think I have to shrink them, but here is what I got so far. Bookmark it cause I am not going to be so vain as to request visits every time I post...LOL! If you are interested, here it is...

If it doesn't work, let me know, thanks! Hope you all enjoy!

Hi Monica - thanx for posting the link to your blog. Enjoyed reading about your first days on the road - you certainly had some interesting adventures your first few days in Texas. winky.gif We look forward to visiting the SKP headquarters in Livingston one day too. We are still learning, even after 3 years, but the 'learning curve' is leveling out a bit now. Keep up the posting and have TONS of fun. Bet you are overjoyed to again spend time with family in Alabama. If you are in the northeast, be sure to visit the birthplace of Helen Keller in Tuscumbia - fascinating woman and place. Safe journeys - L 'n D

Thanks for posting your blog! It'll be fun to read about your adventures as you make your way. Blogger has been really good for us as we've travelled. Family can keep up with us, we have a place to post our stuff (and thereby back it up in case something goes wrong with the laptop). My motto for using blogger..."when in doubt, click about!"

Happy trails!
Monica M
Thanks for checking it out girls! I am still fishing around over there trying to get it the way I want it. My writing should get better once I start posting after a few mixed drinks. mellow.gif

Monica, I have been searching for a long time for a blog that features fulltime egg living.

I will be one of your daily visitors, and am so excited for you. And more than a little envious! smil.gif

LOL, thanks! I don't know about updating it DAILY, not much going on right now, but if you become a "follower" I think it notifies you when I update it.

When you do go full timing, I highly suggest Escapees!

You will also find that "getting started" is a bit more expensive than I thought, LOL, so be prepared to spend som $$ getting rolling, things tend to come up!

When are you going full timing? Soon?

Even updating a couple of times a week would be GREAT. What seems humdrum to you would probably be very interesting to us armchair fulltimers. smil.gif

I am not sure I will ever make it to fulltiming. I haven't yet convinced DH that it would be the life for us.

Right now we have a little Aliner, but hope to get a fiberglass egg next year. After that, maybe I could convince him to half time, anyway. He does love camping and we are both retired. smil.gif

Monica: Why not add the address to your signature?

Monica, I placed my blog address in the signature as an interest item only. Folks may or may not pay any attention to it. I don't use the blog for any advertising / income, but solely as a fun place to write and for others to read. You never know what will happen . . . for instance, Oscar received an email last week from Bob & Bonnie, who full time in a Class A motor home. They are in our area and asked Oscar if he'd have his "driver" head over to the Fredericksburg RV Park so Oscar could sit on their laps. LOL roflol.gif

Bob & Bonnie have been in the sun-blocker for 8 years and are interested in an Egg type trailer for some real camping fun. We'll be seeing them next week! They found the blog from the FGRV signature block and are long time HAM radio operators which is something I am interested in doing.

You just never know . . . serendipity happens . . .

Monica,
I really enjoyed reading your blog to date... Your style is ingenuous, interesting, and engaging.
Thanks for posting .... and for the blog.
Happy travels.

M, good blog, now following it.

Monica M
I appreciate all of you following me, I can see you!

My question is, how do I find the font that I started with, seems to be gone and I can't just click on the old one to find it...what am I doing wrong...good news, learned how to insert and move pics around, but the font thing is really annoying me, I have OCD and the font must match! What am I doing wrong??
Monica M
Okay, about driving me crazy now, what font was I on? Is the choice I started with gone? It MUST all match or I will quit it, I am that bad with OCD, not kidding, it is driving me mad...anyone know what font I started with, seems it's not there, course I could be panicking...not unheard of, but I cannot find it!
Monica M
Okay, I think it has something to do with me switching up my template, but still not acceptable, how do I know which template I switched from? I know this seems trivial to some, but my OCD is freaking me out on this one...seriously...I really can't handle it if all the writing does not look the same...

You all think I am a freak now right, well, about this, I guess I am...being an accountant was even more interesting, bet you all cannot even imagine how freaky I was about that? That is why they loved me, every thing HAD to be perfect! It still does!
brian m.
Your font right now looks like it is the italicized and bold version of Verdana. I can't seem to find where your first font selection came from though ...
Monica M
Yeah, I think it is comic sans, but it was on another format, and I don't remember which format I had before, really bugging me! Okay, Monica, calm down...LOL, last night was worse, of course I haven't looked at it today.
Donna D.
Looking at the source code, there's all kinds of font changes going on.

That's one for this line: "This beautiful, perfect girl has stayed with me through the learning curve."

Usually you're better off sticking with whatever the default (or CSS) is being used by the site. It's like here, some people try to get really fancy and maybe what they see is what they like, but not everyone sees the same thing depending on how their computer is setup.

It looks a lot like "Comic Sans" (bold) to me.

Most of us won't notice things like font. I hope you can concentrate more on the experience. Don't fret so much about the blog. And, as all of us homebrewers are fond of saying: "Relax, don't worry, have a homebrew!"

Monica,

Its "Georgia - small text" You should be able to change your latest posting by highlighting it all and then use the drop down under "Font" and mark "Georgia", then just to the right of the font area is the Text size choices. Select "small."

Nice blog Monica, I'm also learning how to do this blog-thing, mine is http://ki4hee.blogsbot.com

It's pretty neat two post all your thoughts and ideas down on a blog and create the traveling journal. I look forward to following yours in the future.

Hi, You may have discussed this somewhere and I'm not looking in right place. What system do you use for computer on the road and at campsites? I miss my computer when traveling (with my dog Rug) and need to do something about it. Thank you, Pat
Monica M
Hey Pat, I use AT&T wireless air card. It is $60 per month for supposedly unlimited (although the contract says 5MB) of use. I don't download a lot, so the restriction means nothing to me.

The actual device is called a Mercury by AT&T, so far so good, I haven't been without internet yet.

Hey Monica,

Enjoying ur blog. Sounds like ur off to a pretty good start. Everyone I've talked to says they spend the first year getting rid of extra stuff they brought, so sounds like ur right on schedule. Happy trails and keep posting ur adventures for us armchair full-timers.

Thanks Greg, and to think it was only a few months ago you helped me get my little egg! Funny, one of my friends thinks my blog is boring...lol, she only read part of the last one I wrote, so maybe I should put a disclaimer that those that don't live the "style" might find certain post boring. LOL, she lives in New York, New York though, soooo...

Yeah Monica, I checked your blog again yesterday. June 2 was the last update? I am hoping you are just busy, not having problems. Where have you landed?
Greg A
I was worried about Monica as well and emailed her about a week ago. She has been in AL on an extended family visit and said she would hit the road again soon and would catch up with everyone. She said she is doing well.
Robin G
Thanks Greg for the update, I was also wondering where she was off to and if she was ok. Thanks again! Robin
