October 9-11, 2009 – L.L. Stub Stewart State Park
(West of Portland, Oregon - about 31 miles)

We had a great time this past weekend and it’s already time to start the planning for Fall. The traveling road show is moving to a new-to-us state park. Personally, I've never been there, but hear from others its very nice with lots of things to do. Be sure to check out everything the Oregon State Park system has to say about the park. Find the information here including reservation information: L.L. Stub Stewart State Park

We'll be in Dairy Creek Camp EAST and if we fill it up, we'll start into the west camp. I've chosen site 80, the site looks like a good one for a large group for pot lucks, etc.

As usual I’ll keep a park map updated and a list of names going for those that have made reservations. So, post away! BTW: I'm coming early and staying late. I'll pull in on Wednesday and leave Monday morning... if anyone cares to join me in an extended stay!

Ready, Set.. GO!

Happy Trails.

L.L. "Stub" Stewart State Park was featured on Grant's Getaways on KGW news yesterday. Park looks great. Bring your horses!

Thanks for posting the park is filling up Linda. It's appreciated. So, based on that... if anyone needs to cancel (and I hope you don't!), please post here first and let's see if we can get another fiberglasser in the spot.

I love it, we're getting lots of newbies! Glad you can make it Jim & Gloria. A 14' WB Burro is an usual trailer... what year is it?

If we don't see you before, we'll see you in October 53.gif

Thanks for asking Randy (& Teri). There will be a couple of things needed and I'll post that information the end of September, when we get closer to the event. Otherwise it just gets lost in the topic.

Cool. I've always wanted to see the inside of one. 53.gif
Lucy Shelby
Well as far as I can tell the east was full so I reserved a spot in the west as a newbie with a 13 ft Scamp that needs lots of work. I am looking forward to this event. Lucy
Donna D.
Great Lucy! There's others in the west side and maybe more to come. What site did you reserve? I'd like to update the map and listing on the first page. 53.gif
Keith Williams
Hey Donna, I'm going to register right now for Shirley and I and Jake, the wonder dog, to come to the NOG. Yes, I love the little guy, and we'll have him along. We are looking for a seeing eye Dog for him. biggrin.gif

What's the weather "likely" to be like then?

Thanks,

EKW
Donna D.
Keith, it's really difficult to predict. Last year's October NOG it POURED rain Wed/Thurs. Some had frozen waterpipes (to the hose bib) Fri/Sat, the days were relatively warm and dry however. Didn't slow us down much for having fun. It was completely dry during the potlucks and campfires were nice and warming. It also taught me how long the nights can be when cold (I now have an electric blanket!).

This NOG will be 60 miles further north and about 50 miles further west. We're hoping for the VERY best, but because we have molded lightweight fiberglass trailers we can prepare for the possibility of rain. EZ-Ups are always nice to have if necessary!

How's that for being wishy-washy roflol.gif

Well, thanks Donna for fixing my post. I just reserved Site # 8 in the West Side Loop and we will arrive on Thursday the 8th and depart Monday morning, the 12th. We are really looking forward to meeting everyone and seeing this part of the country. I have been up to Portland on business, in my past life, but we have never toured up there.

We are planning on leaving Denver around September 25 th and working our way up there via Yellowstone, etc. Then after the NOG, make a loop down the West coast, Redwoods, Wine Country, SF, maybe Yosemite, Phoenix, then home. Probably 5 0r 6 weeks of travel.

Anyway, thanks for the weather tips and "wishy-washy" is good. I like the electric blanket idea. I'll also be bringing some DO stuff. We love cooking that way. BTW, what's an EZ-Up?? Canopy?

See ya!

EKW
Martha H
Just made our reservation in the West Loop #10. Picked up our Little Joe a month ago in Colorado from Marty Weis. We LOVE our new little 12.5 foot trailer!

A Little Joe! Another trailer I haven't seen in person. woohoo.gif
Mike Price
Mike and Sandy from Tacoma, WA will be in West Camp site #9.

Missed out on the 2010 NOG, and nearly missed this one.

We need to find bigger campgrounds, like Waterloo, Bandon and Fort Langley, BC.

Looking forward to seeing all again.

Mike
HeathGal

The summer is just slipping away, and while I don't like that, I do like looking forward to the Fall NOG.
