The white interior of the Burro is wonderful and bright, easy to clean, and to my personal preference over carpet, ensolite or "Rat Fur". (Nothing wrong with any of those, I just don't like all dark walls in a small space)

BUT.. there is such a thing as TOO much. Someone here said the Burro was like living inside a refrigerator.

Add the fact that Burro put WHITE cupboards in mine.. and you need sunglasses to walk in.

At first, I did some thin strips of bamboo along the upper and lower edges of each cupbaord, just to break it up a bit.. all along planning new wood cupbaords in the future.

I am not skilled in woodwork, and all of the quotes I got for even this simple cabinetry were out of my budget. I have resurfaced countertops, so I decided to do veneer instead.. that I could handle.. now.. just try to find Veneer.. it's near impossible and VERY expensive.

So... I did this instead:

It's nothing fancy, just cedar closet liner..straight cut, glued and nailed to the cabinet face, with a square pine trim. It most certainly is not perfectly done, but looks pretty good.. is whimsical and very "country" like.

It does the job well.. and the rig smells nice too!

I have not done ALL of the cupboards yet, I pick at it as I have time, but the back "Living room" is done. Kitchen is next.

I will line all the cubby floors with the left overs.

I'm VERY impressed!! I was going to put some cedar on the inside of my cabinets..never thought about the outside...very, very cool!

Can I ask you how you've mounted that white shelf on the wall located in your 1st pic shown? I have a few things hanging on my walls in my U-Haul with velcro squares..just pictures and a small decorative clock...but a shelf I'd really like!!

Thanks.. I have used it before in smaller areas that needed to be covered with "something". I wouldn't do a whole wall in it.

The shelf has mounting holes/slots in the back of it. It is put up with screws. With the double wall construction, I have no problem using them. If I move something, I fill and smooth the hole with paintable caulk.. but I think long and hard before anything goes up about how long it will stay there. I would rather NOT have the caulked holes.

It looks great! Really warms up the inside of your rig. I love wood, anyway. (Say hello to the beagles for me.)

I have some of that cedar someone was going to throw away and I saved it. I might just dig it out of the garage and line the BF closet with it, I hadn't even considered it. Thanks for the unintentional memory prod!

I lined my Bigfoot closet with the same stuff, and also the bottom of the drawers. Looks good, smells great! Instead of nails, I used "liquid nails" construction glue. Hope I never have to remove it, though. Gina, having a little woodgrain to look at sure makes it homier in your Burro. Good job.

Re: filling holes. You could fill them with gelcoat, and assuming you match the color well, it will be like new. If you're really lucky, the pre-made tube of "Scratch Patch" will be the right color white, and you're all set.

If not, there are just a couple of extra steps, but it all comes in a little kit and is under $50. Basically, if you use a kit, there is the "raw" paste, the hardener chemical (you use a certain number of drops), and some pigments. Just like Easter eggs The trick to color matching is to mix some up without the hardener and smear it on a normal area of gelcoat, to see how the color matches. That way it will wipe right off. Once you know what you want, then you add the hardener and away you go. Just fill it with a bit of a hump, and then wetsand it down later and it will be... gelcoat, just like you have now.

Not that I'm telling you how to handle your own trailer, but I just thought I'd mention it in case it helps. Feel free to ask if you have any specific questions

Nice job, Gina! Looks great, real woodsy and definitely does not look like a refridgerator in there now. I love the smell of that stuff. My son used it in his small cabin on the inside of the door, varnished it, looks beautiful, too. Nice trim of pine you added. Kepp up the good work!
