Hello,

I have acquired an MKP Grandesse. Overall in good condition. But needs some work.

Where can I get spare parts, manuals, advice etc.

I'm totally new to this, but would like to fix it up myself. Don't have much mechanical or DIY experience. But have family members who can help, if I can organise a general plan of action. 

How much is it worth?

Some times it takes a while to get a response, some of us work, some of us camp, some of work on our trailers when we are not doing the previous two, sometimes we work on our trailers when we camp. I would not get too concerned about not getting a response in the first few hours on a Friday afternoon.

To answer your questions ...

Spare parts: These come from a variety of sources; new used, custom made if need be. It all depends on the part. Most of our trailers have various parts that were only made by 2 or 3 manufacturers. For example Dometic made most the fridges in our trailers. There are a number of links to parts sources in the forums and elsewhere on the site.

Manuals: That depends on the manual you need. Chances are if you have a Dometic Fridge or other common part, the manual is in the documents section on the left side bar.

Advice: Try the search engine here first (top right corner) learn how to do advanced searches. Chances are a number of people have already asked your question. It may not be for an MKP, but in most cases the answers will be similar. If you can't find something in the search, ask away. There are lots of people willing to give advice.

Etc.: See advice above. We don't usually bite, we try to leave that up to the bugs.

Speaking of Danish your heritage, does that mean you make cookies too?

As promised, here are pics of my MKP grandesse. The first and most urgent problem I would like to address is a lifting panel on the side, which is allowing rain to get under the shell.

How do I go about fixing this?

It appears to me that the roof shell assembly is coming out from under the seam trim "crown molding".
The black rubber center of that molding hides the attaching hardware. Find the butt joint where the two ends of that rubber piece come together, and gently pry and pull it out of the channel. Hopefully you will only need to "un-zip" just enough rubber to gain access to the fasteners near the damaged area. Remove those fasteners and see if you can push the roof shell assembly down far enough to get a bite on it with a fastener through the metal part of the trim...

The shell has disintegrated a little around the edge, where it connects to the rubber. Where the hole is for the screw.

I don't have any money to work on it at the moment anyway. I may have to put a cover on it, and forget about it for a couple of years..
