I am trying to see if melamine paint would be ok for the interior fiberglass on my 1974 trillium trailer.. Gene

It'll work fine...if you're covering the green or the melon colour fglass, you might want to TSP wash, then use a 'ZIN" primer. Keep a litll melamine in a small jar for touch-ups. Sharp objects will still scratch through. The Road Toad has been painted with melamine for over five years and we've put over 50000 kms on it with very few paint problems. Go for it : banana.gif

I just finished painting all the interior cabinets in my boler two coats . It looks great , i would highly recomend it . Very durable and long lasting . Use a foam roller for the open areas and a good quality trim brush and you will have a professional looking finish .Be sure to sand lightly between coats with 220 grit sandpaper . Perry

Yup.

Two years ago I painted the interior fiberglass cupboards and benches with a sand brown colour and the doors and lower trim green to match my exterior.

After 10 trips, it still looks as good as the day I painted it.

I sanded the fiberglass first, applied the 1st coat, sanded again and did a second coat. Make sure to use a FOAM ROLLER!!

Here are a few pics.
