I am not sure there is such a thing but I am looking for a pie iron with a folding or telescoping handle. I just think it would be easier to store if the handle telescoped or folded.

I have done a brief search of the internet but haven't found anything. Since you are all such a great resource I thought I would throw out the question and see if anyone has seen one.

I might be able to help if you explain the meaning of 'pie iron'.

If you intend on ironing clothes, Joyce has a little folding/protable iron that she uses when quilting that might be what you are looking for.

I haven't seen one as of yet, but I have 2 hot dog forks/campfire forks that telescope like you're saying...got them at Wally World. Would be great to also find pie irons that telescope as well.

Kevin: Thanks for posting the picture, that is the type of "iron" I am talking about.

Carolyn: I also have a couple of those camp forks. Love them for roasting marshmallows. Also love that the handles telescope so it is easy to store. Now if I can just find a pie iron that does the same thing or even if the handle would fold up on it, I would be thrilled. I have searched on the internet but haven't found one yet. If I do I will post to the group.

I have an aluminum pie iron with a short handle... that I don't use.

The most commonly found pie irons in North America are made by Rome Industries. They also make something called a Jaffle Iron. It seems that the main difference is that it's a wee bit deeper. AND that it has detachable handles (not telescoping, but serves the same purpose if storage is the issue)

Once you get to their web page scroll down about half way to get to both a round and a square jaffle iron.
