April 22-25, 2010 - Silver Falls State Park (near Salem, Oregon)
IT'S TIME TO MAKE RESERVATIONS!

This should be a great time to visit Silver Falls State Park. The tulip fields should all be in bloom and flowers galore everywhere!

You can either make reservations online at: Oregon Parks and Recreation Department:State Parks - Silver Falls, or through ReserveAmerica at 1-800-452-5687

Check out these sites for flower activities in the area: The Oregon Garden in Silverton, Oregon. Which also has "The Gordon House, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright." The The Wooden Shoe 40 acres of blooming tulips just outside Woodburn. If coming from the North, you'll pass right by it!

I've chosen site B 5 and as usual will keep a park map updated and a list of names going for those that have made reservations. So, post away!

Yes Lee, these gatherings are addictive, but with people as good as you all are, it's hard not to be. Mailie, Frida and I will of course be joining you for the Spring 2010 NOG in site 38 woohoo.gif

I am glad that the gatherings have become addictive. I remember your first time with all of us happened by coincidence! It is great that you keep coming back. I am excited to see all of the great folks I have met coming to the spring nog. It will be fun!

Glad you're coming back. Maybe we will get to have a fire together this time. Sorry we got skunked recently with the storm!

That sounds like great fun, and I hope to be in that area around that time, but I don't know if I'll have my Boler ready by then. I only have a couple months now to work on it and there will still be snow on the ground right before those dates; without a garage or somewhere to work on it it's doubtful I'll get it done in time.
mike gillespie
Nancy and I will be in site 3 right next to Donna. We will arrive Friday and leave Sunday.

Shelley, in loop B (if you look at the map on the first page), on the left are some very nice tiny cabins. They're clean and heated! There's bunkbeds and a table in the cabins. You'd need to bring an air mattress and sleeping bag... the bunks are made out of plywood. But, it's a way you could participate if you so choose to join us.

Thanks Donna D. I have to see if it will correspond with my trip down. I have to take a couple of puppies down into the US for critiques and was hoping to do so on my spring break from work (School District Employee). If I can manage it I'll try to be there!

We won't have to wait that long since we'll be at L. L. Stubbs in the Fall.

The 'Greyt' Escape and crew will be "chasing a bunny" ( 55.gif ) into B-18 - where the dogs will nap 79.gif the weekend away while I visit . . . 31.gif

If you do decide to try a cabin, you will want to be sure that pets are allowed. In the past, Oregon State Parks have not allowed pets in cabins or yurts, but they are revising some of the rules in some parks.

We just reserved site 40. See you in April. woohoo.gif

BTW: Do they give senior discounts? Waterloo did.

Oregon State Parks do not give senior discounts. They do give discounts to disabled veterans. Waterloo is a Linn County park, so it is a different governing entity.

Looking forward to seeing you again.
Donna D.
I received a couple of personal e-mail from folks that have made their reservations. Just added Louise & John and Gayle & Lawrence.

DonnaD,

How long is the "waiting list" for the 2010 NOG? Would it be worth our while to put our name on it?

If not, maybe we will make a reservation for that weekend at Waterloo, and drive up to visit you folks ;-)

Mike & Sandy & our egg, Benedict
Linda&Dale
Mike if you go to reserve America for the four days in April(22nd for four nights) when we have the NOG there are still four spaces open.
I see 17, 20, 22, and 28 still open. If you reserve on line today, you will be sure to get one of those spaces.

There is also another loop nearby but most of the spaces are tent sites and do not have electric. I think four or five do have electric.

Linda&Dale,

Thanks a bazillion! I checked some time ago, and got a response that it was full, so I gave up. After receiving your PM, I went online and was able to reserve space 17, so we are good to go! I am recommending you for knighthood!
