My truck came with 6 pin wiring and the trailer is 7. How do I switch it over and how easy is it to add a brake controller...by myself....

Thanks!

The wiring diagram is great!

Is adding a brake controller doable for a newbie or should I try a hitch shop?

There are 4 wires that go to a brake controller... Black, White, Blue, and Red...

Black is positve battery voltage and should be run to the battery through a 20 amp auto resetting circuit breaker.

White is ground and should be run directly to the negative batt terminal

Blue goes to the 7 pin for the brakes,

Red connects to the brake light switch....

Hope this helps....
