Full Version: 13' Scamp tire pressure

Just parked my new aquisition. Looks like the former owner kept the tire pressures at 35. Seems like it should be more like 45? Suggestions considering it's 100 degrees in the Seattle area today. Send ice.
Some where on the sidewall of the tire it should say what pressure to use.
On my 16' Scamp it is 50 lb.

Welcome and congratulations on your new-to-you Scamp 
You're off to a great start with your question about tire pressures. The concern about proper tire pressures on ALL vehicles has prompted many of the vehicle manufactures to
offer an "optional system" to monitor changes in the number of rotations of the wheels/tires. Low air/Flat tire/SLOW WHEEL rotation: A Gentle signal lets you know. ; )
This system DOES NOT give you tire pressures but it does let you know when one of the tires is not doing it's job. Not available for our trailers.............yet. Too much $$$
I apologize for wandering off on a tangent; the technology is exciting! It came as standard equipment on my '04 MINI Cooper.

When our trailers leave the factory they will have tires engineered for trailer usage. The moulding of the tire size numbers on the side wall ( 175 / 80R 13 ST ) will include "ST" if it is a genuine trailer tire for use on the highways. ST tires will usually have the higher pressure you were looking for. You may be on to something. They may have switched to car tires? (I may be WRONG!!!!!)
