We are in Edmonton (central Alberta) and are looking for a molded fiberglass trailer. I have MS and have mobility issues, so thought a small trailer of this type would be easier than the tenting we've been doing!
I would appreciate any advice on which make to consider (or avoid) given my mobility issues, or if you have any leads on a trailer for sale.
Thanks
Donna
Hi Donna. We're in the same boat so I thought I'd tell you about our 17-foot Burro and how that works for us, me with MS in particular. I move around reasonably well, wobble some, but the small trailer is great because there's always something to reach out for when I need it, plus there's only one step up into the trailer. The little washroom is right there for me, and if I decide to shower in the trailer rather than a campground washroom, I can sit on the toilet seat and use the handheld shower. We have avoided using the trailer in the heat of summer, since hot is bad for me. But we have been looking at air conditioning options for when we have more time to be in the trailer. The fridge is a bonus for cooking and for keeping my drugs cold. And the bed is comfortable (we leave the full-size dinette made into a bed all the time) so I get the rest I need. The front dinette converts into a couch so I can have my legs up when I need it. Ours is fibreglass both inside and out, which makes for very easy cleaning on the inside. It also means there is insulation between the two layers of fibreglass so temperature stays nice and even. Hope that helps.
