Hi Jim,

Thought I recognized your name from EOC!

Jim, there's a lot of factors to consider. A/C or no A/C, vent cover or no vent cover. New axle or sagging axle. Pre-fire Scamps are shorter than those built after the fire (January 2006), etc., etc. I'm thinking you MAY have better luck looking at the Hunter/Compact brands, rather than an "egg."

Others thoughts?

I thought some people take off the 13" wheels and use a very small wheel when storing their eggs in the garage. There's also a 4-wheel dolly made for car wheels. That might work. Although it would be a bit of a hassle to change out wheels before and after every trip. The guy I bought my 13' Scamp from stored it in his garage during the winter using the small replacement wheels.

so is there a list of eggs..that fit without removing rims........again a 7 foot garage

garage eggs?

Jim,
I do not know if there is an actual list of FGRV's that fit in a standard garage or not. I DO know that my Compact II fit very nicely in my standard height doorframe garage, clearing the door frame by a couple of inches. I hadn't actually anticipated that it would fit in the garage, but it was a WONDERFUL surprise! hehe
I would think that just about any of the Hunter/Compact family of trailers would work for your needs height-wise, except a Havasu (poptop is permanently up), or unless someone has added vents to the poptop as that might add a few inches too much.
As far as amenities go, my Compact II is pretty loaded as far as the options that were available, so I have a 3 way refrigerator (not all of them do, there's often an icebox) and I even have a tiny bathroom. So if you decided to go with a Hunter sibling, I would bet with some diligent watching of this website, maybe EBay or Craigslist also, and some patience, I bet you could find a rig that would work for you.
Since you're in Simi Valley, you might want to go to the Lake Casitas Rally in Oct so you can see the variety of trailers that are out there. I will be there, and I think there will be several other Hunter sibling rigs too, so you should be able to get a good feel for some of your possibilities.
Happy Hunting!

As Donna mentioned earlier, some Bolers and early Boler clones (Scamp, Trail-Mite, etc.) do reportedly fit in garages. That said, since it's a matter of inches, there's no way to tell you for sure which will and which won't.

Different axle, different tires, different skylights/placement - these can all affect the height. But I have seen some owners of the aforementioned trailers who say they've fit in their standard garage (there have even been photos posted).

So, the upshot is that campers such as the Compact Jr., Hunter, etc. (toaster shaped pop-top eggs) will fit in a garage. Boler/clones might fit, it would depend on the individual trailer. Cloud clones (Burro, U-haul) most likely won't.

I'm not sure what your garage situation is but have you though about raising your header and getting a new door? I can't have a trailer in my driveway either but I thought about raising the header in my third-car garage stall and putting the trailer in there. The ceiling is around 12 feet so there's plenty of room. If you have just a single stall and some headroom, it wouldn't be that difficult.
