Here's something a friend has posted on her blog that sounds interesting as a camping treat.
Haven't tried it (gluten sensative) but she wrote that it's especially good with a dollop of ice cream (but then, what isn't?)
here goes........

5 Minute Chocolate Mug Dangerous Cake
4 T flour
4 T sugar
2 T cocoa
1 egg
3 T milk
3 T oil
3 T chocolate chips (optional)
Small splash of vanilla extract
1 large coffee mug (Microwave Safe)

1. Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well.
2. Add the egg and mix thoroughly.
3. Pour in the milk and oil and mix.
4. Add the chocolate chips (if using) & vanilla extract, mix again.
5. Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts. The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed!
6. Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.
EAT! (this can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous!)
And why is this a dangerous cake recipe??
Because now we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night!

But since Ben and Jerry haven't cashed in, I'm guessing some combos just don't have universal appeal. (sauerkraut)

I love sauerkraut, cold... right out of the jar. Or heated with a good brat. One thing about liking (or loving) foods other folks don't... I'll probably never starve if there's a run on our food supplies

One thing I wouldn't do, is heat up sauerkraut in my trailer

This whole thread reminded me of a chocolate cake that my mom used to make that was wonderful. She can't find the recipe but I found one that is very close.

What's the connection to this thread? It is made with Sauerkraut!

I have wanted the recipe and will make it soon!

Here is a book of recipes that I found on another site. They are South African Potjiekos (pot food) recipes. Traditionally they are cooked in a Potjie. a 3 legged round pot quite similar to an English pot or the taller Gypsy pot. Some of the ingredients may be a bit exotic for some tastes but should get the creative juices flowing.
