Hi,
I have seen the forum discussion on p3 vs prodigy brake controller
http://www.fiberglassrv.com/board/index.ph...rt=#entry307609

but what about the Tekonsha Voyager vs Tekonsha P3?

Is the only difference digital display (P3) vs manual dial (Voyager)?

Is the p3 the same inside as voyager, just fancier digital display or is the P3 a better controller?

From the earlier discussion I gather some like the p3 more than the prodigy (because of the p3 diagnostic features)? How is the Voyager vs Prodigy vs P3 or new Tekonsha "iq" brake controller?

Thanks

I have a P3 and love it. Makes it pretty easy to diagnose any problems.

Whichever one you decide on check out etrailer.com to possibly save a few bucks on your purchase.

As of yesterday they still have a shipping special of $4.99 to Canada. With our high Canadian dollar this was 1/2 the price of what I could get it for here in Calgary. It arrived within 10 days of placing the order.

I like my P3 since it tells me when there is a problem and I was able to order the kit for a 2nd vehicle install. Being able to watch the actual voltage changes under different braking conditions really lets you understand what is going on. Yes its more than I need for my 13' boler but my boler may not be the only thing I will ever tow. That's the same reason I chose the heavier hitch/receiver.

As for the IQ, I know nothing about it. Mantelli trailer in NY had good prices and also delivers to Canada.

We have a Voyager in the Subaru we used to tow our teardrop and a Prodigy in the Chev we tow the Scamp with.
Never had a problem with the Voyager, but the teardrop was a lot lighter & i kept the power turned down.
I much prefer the digital readout on the Prodigy to the little light that changes color on the Voyager. Much easier to dial in the desired power setting.
No experience with the P3.

Yep, no complaints about our prodigy on our subaru. It is nice to have a numeric display as I switch between 2 trailers all the time.
